Has any1 installed Wireless Door Locks & Dead Bolts? Starting our research & see 2 companies show up : Schlage & Kwikset. The former charges a monthly fee for using the wireless functionality while the latter doesn't. Installation looks easy enough for DIY. But otherwise, I know nothing about these things except I would like to remotely unlock my doors from anywhere (let in maid, neighbors with cookies, family). Would appreciate any feedback re: pros/cons.

I wouldn't trust them to function, I wouldn't want to be locked out of my home. Look at the occasional problems we have with our PC and other electronics. I do like deadbolts and had them put in this home when it was built. Later I changed the door knobs to levers for easier entry when carrying groceries and things in through the garage door. One day my garage door wouldn't open, luckily I had failed to lock the storm door. After that I had a new storm door put on with a key lock.

I believe the electronic locks can also use a traditional key to open the lock in the case of a power failure.

Any other inputs would be appreciated: Schlage or Kwikset?

There's a Yale one too that seems to integrate with Control 4 home automation if that is something that is of interest at all: http://www.yaleresidential.com/en/yale/yale-USA/Real-Living/product-de tails/Keypad/touchscreen/
