| Hi. I've got a Canon PowerShot SD1000 digital Elph. Does anybody know what that accessory is called so that I can include myself in pictures?
I believe it's something you plug into the camera, it's on a cord and has a button you push to take a shot when ready. Having trouble googling it, because I don't know what it's called, and I can't find any mention of such a thing in the manuals. Thank you. |

| It would be called a Remote Shutter Release, but I don't think you can use one on that camera. You could just use your built-in Self-Timer. |

| Thanks Regus for the information and for taking the time to reply. Obviously I'm a novice; I'll read up on using the the timer. Sounds like the solution. Regards, suesan |

| A tripod might help with the self timer function? |

| I did actually pick up a tripod in a second hand store. I've read up on using the self-timer. It's going to be a rather sharp learning curve for me, a lot of trial and error, but I'm confident I'll learn where to place the camera, the subjects and all that. Thank you. |

| Ha, Regus - love it! Sometimes the simplest answers are the hardest . . . still laughing. |
