where can i find information about them when i know nothing about them? what is good brand ? LCD? plasma? this is all greek to me...help..thanks..

I started with Consumer Reports and cnet.com. I read this forum and eliminated anything made by Phillips/Magnavox from my list. Then I went and watched TVs at Costco and eliminated a couple more.

LCD is best is you have a very bright room, like we have, with lots of windows. Consumer Reports (check your library or subscribe online) has good info on the strengths/weaknesses of each format.
