hooking up my cable box, vcr & dvd

I just got a DVD recorder. I already have a VCR and cable box. Can anyone tell me how to hook this all together? The cable company wants $75 to come out and do this.

Can anyone tell me what 'plugs into where' so I can start using this?

I'd appreciate the help.
