nec tv cable hook up

Hello, I have a 1986 NEC TV # CM 1991 K.It works with vcr or dvd. I would like to hook it up to cable. There isn't a common coaxial jack. It has a twist plug that appears to be for a cable, not sure.I stripped back a piece of coax and stuck it in the plug and stuck it in to video 1 in on the back. No picture.I need to know if this tv can be hooked up to cable and where can I buy the correct cable, it would need the standard end on one end and the correct one for the tv. Also I would like to get a remote control if this set can work.I can take a pic of the rear panel and email it for a better id. Thanks in advance for any help.
Will

Send a pic. Email is in page.

Also, how is your cable, does the coax cable come from the wall directly into your tv? Or does it go to a box then to your tv?

tried to put that info about the tv into google but nothing came up.

If that "twist plug" looks like one of these, then it's a BNC connector for VIDEO IN. You may have a CM (computer monitor)

Here is a link that might be useful: BNC connectors
