 o
tivo usb port questions.

My TIVO has 2 USB ports on the back.

I could connect a USB network device to one of these ports
and connect into my home network.
But I would have to buy the network device.

Can I connect from one of those USB ports
directly to a USB port on my computer or USB hub.
Or how about directly to my router/modem (ADSL).

Could a USB Jump drive be connected to one of those ports.
Or are the files too big to transfer that way.

Otherwise I'm gonna have to buy a USB network device.

Sure would be nice to just use a USB cable.
I have a USB cable that has the same connector on both ends.
So it could be plugged into the TIVO and into a computer.
Would it work. I want to be able to do file transfers.

Thanks.

RE: tivo usb port questions.

I can't answer your question, but here's a link to a TIVO forum that might be able to tell you. You could also enter USB in that forum's search feature and possibly up with an answer.
If that doesn't help, there's also another forum run by TIVO where you could ask.

Here is a link that might be useful: TIVO

RE: tivo usb port questions.

I went over to the TIVO forums and searched.
The question had been asked several times already.
The answer is no. You have to have a network device.

I need to do some upgrades to my home network anyway.

Thanks.
