Whole House Music System?

Dh and I would like to enjoy music in our new house. In our last house we had stereo components in every room that we had wired to our computer system and such could play songs through our computer controlled system or through a multi-CD player whereever we wanted in our home.

However, we are in a new home now and we can't tear apart the walls to allow for wiring. Is there another option? Dh and I are way behind on what is available - technologically speaking. Is there a portable option (IPODish) or Satellite version that we could have docked in certain areas to play music? I'd like some control over content - but it doesn't have to be entirely dictated by us.

Hope this makes sense . . .

RE: Whole House Music System?

Yamaha's MusicCast system is a wireless system that allows you to rip your CD's onto a hard drive and then hear them in any room in your house.
