I called Comcast from relatives house using my cellphone. Comcast has no record of my cell phone. The automated Comcast message knew my relatives address. Relative does not have me listed on their account. WHY would they? So. Comcast Knows my location via cellphone?

So, you did not give them an account number or address or anything?

What kind of phone do you have? Smart phone with GPS capability? What are your privacy settings? I thought that only had to do with web apps, though... kinda surprised they could do this through a phone call.

its an antique cellphone. lg-vx9200. i called comcast again specifically about this issue and they said, yup, they do not recognize my number. dont know me from a hole in the ground. any other questions? basically they did not know or would not tell me. i am going to go to a friends house who has comcast and try the call again. you call comcast and initially get a voice prompt asking you what you want. than you select a answer from a menu and are routed. this first voice i get is automated. it say, "are you at house XXX?

RE: Big brother

They know which cell towers handled the call. That gives the location.

But there might be numerous houses in range of any tower or pair of towers...
