Is there a limit to the distance you can connect CAT5E cable to a router connection? I have a wireless router with 4 ports in the back for wire connections. I took a 30 foot CAT5E cable, added connectors, and plugged into the router but it did not work.

30 feet isn't a problem, you have some other issue.

Cat 5 ethernet is rated for 100 meters. How did you pin the cable? What are you connecting? You have to pin the connectors properly.

have u tried one of the other ports. i've read that someone with the same issue, tried another port & it worked. or the cable too. u should be able to use even a longer cable than 30' without a problem.
cheers.

Here is a link that might be useful: printer cartridges
