Cross-border digital signals

I live close to the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, just on the southern side. Now as Northern Ireland is part of the UK, they have enjoyed digital TV for some time which I have picked up from this side of the border thanks to an aerial the size of a tower block and an amplifier like an electricity sub-station. What concerns me is that these stations come with pre-assigned channel numbers, for example BBC One is channel # 1. Now the Irish are launching digital broadcasts soon and they will also come with pre assigned channel numbers with RTE One being channel # 1. How can I get the same digibox to receive both Irish and UK transmissions, or do I have to get two seperate digiboxes and link one to a UK facing aerial and the other to the mast transmitting the Irish channels?
