Is it safe to work with house grounding

conduit wire that is attached to my main water pipe coming into the house?

I am having my meter replaced and valves; the ground wire, made of conduit, has the internal wires attached to the copper piping. Te clamps etc are all rusted, so I want to replace them.

Any dangers?

Thanks,

Jim

If you feel a need to ask then I would probably suggest you might not want to do it.
