Smartphone: Google Android or Windows Mobile

I ready to move up to a smartphone and I would like to hear from folks with their preferences about the Android platform vs. Windows. I'm not into social networking or downloading music or taking cool videos of me doing clever things to put on YouTube. I mainly want a smartphone for: 1) Internet access/ email, and 2) maps/navigation. I am sure there are some small apps I would also add on. With the modest research I've done, I'm leaning toward an Android phone (maybe like the Motorola Cliq). However, a friend told me that I'd like an HTC HD2 with the Windows system better. Let me hear your ideas and prejudices. (My only restriction: please don't bring up the iPhone...I refuse to deal with AT&T).

RE: Smartphone: Google Android or Windows Mobile

I had a Windows Mobile phone and liked the internet and email access. I didn't do much with maps.

From what I understand, Android phones are designed to work better with social network stuff like Facebook, Myspace, etc.

You would probably get better info from a dedicated smartphone forum.

Here is a link that might be useful: A smartphone forum to try
