Power surge to Magnavox 32MF338B

We recently experienced a power surge. The electrician told me the neutral and hot lines crossed and the voltage went up to 220. As a result, my fairly new tv isn't working, even though it was plugged into a surge protector. The manual said it can be reset after unplugging for 30 minutes, but it's dead. One of my surge protectors caught on fire after the power came back on.

This is the electric company's fault, but I can't get them to call me back about fixing my tv. I don't have much money and would like to try to fix it myself if I can. I have been told some newer tvs have internal surge protection. Is this true and is it something I can fix?

Your TV is fried. Call the electric company's home office.
