How can I duplicate this for cheap?

This is what I want hanging in a 2 story staircase, but can't afford $3600.00 cash. Any suggestions for making something similar for less?

I am an artist, so I think it can be done.

I'm thinking sheet metal, and spraying bronze? Using lampshade fabric?

What do you think?

First, you need to find a fan with the wiring for the light kit above the fan, rather than below as most are.
Once you do, posting your question in the metalworking forum might be more appropriate.
Be advised, the modification you are making will negate the UL certification on the fan.

Lowes has a copy of that fan and it sure isn't close to $3600.
