I am finishing my basement and the crew is planning to sheetrock next week. I am planning to run wiring for Home theator projector, surround sound,telephone/network cables.I need to run around 300 feet Speaker cable wire for 7.1 surround sound system. What kind of wire I need for speakers? Also What kind of vedio cables I need for the Home Theator Projector? The distance between the projector and system is around 25 feet. What kind of wire I need for computer networking and Telephone lines? I appreciate your suggestions. Thanks, Sam

Hi Sam, I am no expert, but when I did mine in my house and it turned out nice. 1. Speaker wire 16 gauge, I used banana plugs and wall plates. 2.If you are running your computers to a wired router you need to run CAT5 Cable and get keystone jacks for the wall. It's just a starting place to look, you can probably get better pricing if you shop them around. canman1355

If the drywall isn't up yet, you could consider putting in conduits so that future upgrades in wiring are not so difficult. You might also consider two runs of Cat5 to each room or to opposite sides of larger rooms. It's cheap to do it now and it keeps you from having to run network and phone signals over the same cable.
