Help my Tv won't turn all the way on! Model 27ts54c101

Hi, We have a Philips Magnavox model # 27ts54c101 Chasis # 273800-7562. When we turn on the TV the green power light turns on and then flashes. We get a black screen with white lines. Is this something we can repair ourselves? If so how? and what parts would we need? We would prefer not to have to buy a new TV right now! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

could be any number of things. do you have the proper knowledge/equipment to repair electronics? can you trouble shoot voltage, solder conenctions, and follow a schematic diagram of an electronic circuit? if no to any of the above then you likely cannot repair it yourself.

sorry to say this, but it MAY be better to just replace the TV. stay away from Phillips/Magnavox.
