If one puts electrical equip up in a closet(or anywhere dry & with safe condition) will it go bad without use? What I am thinking of is a TV converter box to receive basic TV without cable. My son bought an extra one in case his goes bad.. will it keep for several years without use? This is a new one in the box.
Thanks,
Dar

It should be fine for a number of years.

I would suggest that you use the spare for a month or two to ensure it works. One of my boxes went belly-up just short of the 90 day warranty period. If you don't use it until after the warranty has expired, you will be SOL if it goes bad.
