I am thinking of buying a Westinghouse tv. I was wondering if anyone has good luck with this brand

Probably someone has. They are just another of the low end TV's made by some nameless Chinese company and marketed with a familiar brand name in North America.

The "nameless Chinese company" should be Chi Mei Optoelectronics and they're one of the biggest LCD panel manufacturers in the world. That said, the Westinghouse name was merely purchased and has nothing to do with the Westinghouse of yore.

I have a "Westy" 26" LCD and it works for me. I know that screen technology is changing fast in the LCD TV world, so this TV will be well behind the times in a few years. Because of that, and because I'm not the most critical TV watcher in the world to start with, I decided to not pay the price for a Samsung or a Sharp. The Westinghouse was a really good deal (refurb on-line at $400 a year ago), so I bought it. I'd say so long as you're not expecting much, you'll be more than satisfied.
