Looking for a tv

I am considering getting a new tv for my living room, I will give this old one to my grandpa. The Sony KDL-46V2500 46" Bravia V-Series 1080p LCD HDTV caught my eyes, I noticed it got nice reviews:

A decent deal the lowest price I can find for it is $1595:

Has anyone had it? How it works?

I've always heard that Sony is the way to go, my old tv is Sony also. I would like to stay under $1600. Any advice?? Thanks!

The V2500 series is discontinued and replaced by the V3000 series.

The 2500 series had the clouding problems if memory serves.
The problem with some of these (46" Bravia) is that there are six different models with the XBR.
