You don't attach to the brick. You drill thru the brick and attach to the studs behind the wall.

Bolts anchored in special epoxy would be great for this. Hilti sells a line of anchor bolts and epoxy adhesive.

Or the good old standby, extremely effective, strong and cheap lead lag shield works incredibly well. I think going through to studs is unnecessary at best unless the brick wall in question is a very small area.
