13 recepticals after 4years of use now have been detected to have a ground problem after installing an LCD HD TV, which is mirrored to two analog/tube type TVs using Dish Network Satelite. Can anyone advise me on where to start and what tools do I need to rectify this problem. Thanks in advance for your input. henryl80@hotmail or 832.971.8089

RE: 13 Recepticals now have ground problem

There is no layman replacement for visual inspection. The grounds must be inspected inside each junction (receptacle) box all the way back to the breaker box.

Many make a serious mistake when using a three light receptacle testers. The tester can report a defective ground. But it cannot report a ground as good.

According to the post, a receptacle tester should be reporting a safety ground failure.
