| I'm new to the forum and hope to get some good threads going on restoration or renovation of compostion dolls of the 1930's and 1940's. Are any of you working with these dolls? I'm learning to touch up face paint, restyle wigs and costume them, and hope for some experienced input from you all! Molly (mycalicogirls) |

| I am also trying to do some restoration. I have a couple good dolls for practicing on, but not sure where to start. If you have anything that you could share with me on how to begin this process, I would really appreciate it. I do have one that I had to add the missing teeth and red behind them. That was not hard, just tricky to do. Had to put a new wig on one, and then trying to style it as a baby doll ... stopped on cutting it for now, until I have a better idea of how I want to style it. Sounds like you have found some info on the painting and wigs and costuming them. I have a hard time figuring out exactly how to dress them. I keep looking at my fabrics and could easily get carried away with entire wardrobes...lol Any info you want to share would be appreciated. Carol |
