Has anyone else noticed that this forum is slow? lol

I didn't mean to give anyone the willies, nightmares or creep them out. I just wanted to show my work. :-) The people who collect do so for their own reasons. Mostly, just because they fall in love with a face or maybe one will resemble a baby from their past. Or maybe, they just think it's cute. There are lots of reasons.

Thank you! Joan, yes, it is an expensive hobby to get into and even with practice it can take a few weeks to make one. It really depends on how many hours you work on it at a time. Last night I spent about three hours rooting a portion of a doll head, and I only got less than a third of it finished. And once finished, I cross my fingers and hope I can sell it at a price to recoup what I've put into it, and hopefully the time spent working on it. Then, THAT money goes right back into the hobby buying more kits and supplies. It's a never ending circle. But I like making them and seeing the end results.

About 20 years ago my granddaughter's other grandma sent a picture of her into some company that makes those dolls. It scared my granddaughter and she has not liked dolls since.Recently when they moved,they had to take the doll out of the attic and it's eyes had turned purple and it really freaked my granddaughter out.She didn't even want the doll brought to the new home. I love dolls and offered to take it,but my daughter wanted to keep it. I think they are beautiful when they are so lifelike.
