Does anyone know how to tell if a copyright has expired on a pattern?

There is a 1-800 number for the Library of Congress

and you might contact them to get information,

as this is where copyrights, patents and such are

submitted, approved, granted and cataloged.

I do know that copyrights are in affect until the death

of the composer, writer, designer, originator or can

continue if a party is designated for the copyright to

be passed on to. ie: family members, designated organizations, trusts and etc.
