Thought I'd better catch up and let the newer folks know a bit about me. Married, all kids are too, and altogether there are 7 grandkids. We have no allergies but a few dislikes or aversions: DH loathes olives, the fruit. I dont like florals very much and definitely dont heavily many scented things. Love citrus scents thought or those that could be defined as "grass" clean, not overwhelming. Like handmade or homemade just about anything. I dont lean towards things Victorian or very ornate Love metal, wood, stone, ceramic, organic looking things Neither one of us is fond of the blood-sausage-type things. We both like nuts, chocolate (mines dark, his is lighter but he is changing), spices, sweet and savory things. I love lemon, We eat at home often, I love to set a pretty table, linen napkins everyday We divide our time between NYC and a small town in CT. We are moving in the fall to and down-sizing in NY. CT: The country home is eclectic leans towards the whimsical or lyrical, my color palette is basically established by all the things that I own. We are changing our color palette when we move from the neutrals with dusty peach to spicy colors: saffron, ginger, paprika. My new kitchen is right out in the open; the counters are slate, the cabinets and appliances are wood-grain and the sink and stove are stainless. So I guess my new digs will be more contemporary to modern and streamline if I can do it. Hi, I have a pattern for them in an old Annie's Attic booklet...I started working on the ann and just couldn't get the foot right! For the life of me I could NOT get the foot to go with the instructions! I will dig through my closet tomorrow and look for it...it's probably sitting right next to ann with no feet! :-)

I made several sets of the 12" Raggedy Anne and Andys. Since they have small faces I used the embroidery feature on my Husqvarna and sewed one small heart for the mouth and then did 2 small black triangles for the eyes, and also one pink triangle for the nose. I used iron-on interfacing on the backs of the faces to give the face some body for the stitching. It's one great way to make them all the same if you are doing sets. You can also do them production style and do all the mouths, then eyes, then noses. It saves time when you don't have to keep changing thread colors. I will have to tell you that the clothes are so small you will spend more time on them than the dolls themselves. They were really cute though and I had no problems selling them.

Hi, it is nice to meet you Teresa and Karlene. Here are pics of the first quilt I made. I made it completely by hand so it took me several years. It's a backwards pinwheel quilt. Here is a small quilt I made for my friend's new puppy. I used 9" Card Tricks block and used a towel instead of batting so is not a choking hazard to the puppy. And here is a baby quilt I made completely by hand for a close friend of mine. It's made of apple prints using the 9" Card Tricks block. Here is the quilt top for my niece's baby doll's quilt which is going to be her Christmas present this year. Am making a matching pillow to go with it. It's made of 4 9" blocks. Here is a group project I coordinated for GW's Linda Ruzicka's grand-daughter's baby quilt. And here is the 9" block I am making for my queen-size Card Tricks quilt. Hoping to finish it in 2011. Am starting an applique canning jar lap-quilt for my mom's Christmas present this week. In 2011 I want to start a queensize Grandma's Flower Garden hexagon quilt and make some embroidered lap-quilts. And I have a back burner 9" flower pot applique that I have the plastic templates for and have started cutting out a few flowers for. My sister had gotten me in 2008 the Better Homes and Gardens "Quilt Pink for Hope" quilt book, so am having fun making 9" blocks this year. Best to you, Sandra aka quiltingfox
