kburks, thanks for sharing the info on Decorators Chest - if you order, let us know how it goes! It reminded me of www.lampsplus.com. They carry many of the same items, have good sales, and offer free shipping on many of their selections. We have ordered quite a few things from them, and are happy to say we have been very pleased with our purchases. They pack their items very well (sometimes, too much!) and nothing has arrived broken or damaged. As far as Kirklands goes, it depends on where your store is. The closest one to us is the one in Biloxi, MS and it is horrible. It doesn't even feel like a Kirklands when you enter....

Our Austrian friends had remote control roller blinds :) Joanie, I like my not-self-defrost freezer because it stays 0 all the time. When I take something out, it is frozzzen. I only defrost it every 3 years or so; I think since it lives in the basement, constant temperature/low humidity environment, and we don't open it every single day, it doesn't get so much moisture inside. People are going into your minifridge all day, stealing your yogurt, etc, it has to work hard to stay cold. So my freezer is for long-term storage, not the things I'm using in the next month.

A couple more.... Original Art Nouveau tazza... love the mauve glass - which happens to match my birthstone (amethyst)! The stand is a bit bent out of shape, which just adds to its character, imho ;) As an aside, in the background is a vintage lamp base given to us as a gift (!!!) by a lovely lady we met when purchasing the peacock mirror from her. She appreciated our love of the style and offered us the lamp base with a Tiffany style glass shade that had suffered some damage but which she correctly identified we'd appreciate, damage notwithstanding :) The shade is awaiting repair. The pastel portrait below we bought at an antique fair here in the UK. The sitter and artist are unfortunately unknown...but we love her and like to imagine her story.....
