crack in wall

We bought this old house and knew it was a fixer upper. There is a long crack in the corner of the bedroom wall. Realator said the problem was fixed,but not sure . How can we repair this wall? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't call that "fixed" Have you felt for dampness after a rain if so there is water getting in under roof if outside corner wall. If wall is in center of house & close to bathroom could be problem there. Have you checked out the attic to see if floor or rafters are wet? Should have gotten it in writing that problem was fixed(& what the problem was) I think it's plaster wall & don't know anything about repairing them but "fixing the wall won't help if you don't get to root of where the "problem" is. If the area is totally dry & no sign of water marks then it sounds more like a settling problem. Are you on stable ground? Was house moved in there? Earthquakes? Any other damage inside or out like that? Critters in attic or walls? Good Luck!
