 o
sealing basement floor

Hi! I am concerned about painting our basement floor. We bought BIN sealer and want to use it. Can we paint near our hot water heater and oil burner? We just installed new units because we had a problem with the old ones. Now the floor is a mess. The BIN has a warning on it saying it is very flammable. We do not have gas in the house or an open flame anywhere. Thanks

RE: sealing basement floor

Turn off both the boiler/furnace and the hot water heater. Paint, open the windows and when it's dry and the fumes are gone, turn them on again. Wait at least two hours after you paint for an alcohol based paint, six hours for oil. An exhaust fan in the window will help.
