It's a miserable day here with cold, raw, driving, windswept rain. It's just awful. This weather is interfering with my horse riding playtime!

I am trying to get into the unemployed mode but I just can't rest easy. I should just enjoy this time off but I am not so far. Trying to get my office into command central is going slowly...must be denial. LOL

I hope we see a bunch of posts here this week. Last week was great! We managed to breath a little new life into it!

Well it's not raining for the first time in 36 hours! We might get glimpses of sun too.

I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. What is everyone doing this year to celebrate?

Suzanne - glad the rain stopped. We had some sleet, snow and rain yesterday, but today is mild.

Our daughter is having Thanksgiving this year, so we will be heading to Brooklyn.

Our team is the BeeDazzlers because a few of the team members had already started planning around that name. I did put BJ's suggestions in my calendar for next year. THANKS BJ.

It's my day off, but I have 2 meetings - both Girlfriend Getaway related and then off to art class. When are things going to slow down?

Raeanne~I agree with you that things need to slow down.

We go to Disney for the first time tomorrow. So I'll ask the question how many have gone & what was your favorite part of it? We are going to Epcot. We did the "give a day--get a day" program. So we get in free. We did donate our time though for a day. I'm very excited. Need to check it out so we can bring kids back another time. :)

Maddie, count me in for the ornament exchange.

Ladies, can I just tell you how exciting my first ZUMBA class was? My foot was still bothering me (have another appointment with foot doc on Monday), but the instructor told me she was amazed that I kept up with the class for the entire 45 minutes. If you don't know about Zumba, look it up on youtube. Soooooo much fun.

Suzanne, thinking of you all week and praying things get better for you.

Patti, sorry I did not check in yesterday; I've been to Disney many times. We love Epcot the best!

I'm a bit upset. Yesterday our dear dog, Benny, had a tooth break off. We have no idea what happened to it. My son noticed it and it was just hanging by a small piece of skin. I took him to the vet to-day. It is a left bottom fang. Apparently the roots are very very long. The dentist is a bit concerned that maybe the root is cracked and may be quite a chore to get out. To complicate things he had a problem with the aneasthetic once before and since that he has developed a heart murmer, a liver problem and cholesteol that is too high. This may be risky but has to be done. Hope all goes well. Our furbabies are like kids to us.

I'll try to update you. He will be staying at the vets over night, at least.The surgery is to-morrow, late morning.

Suzanne, I know things will break for you, no doubt about it.

Ivamae, hugs for you and Benny. Please let us know how me makes out with the surgery.

Dee, I have been dying to try Zumba, it looks like so much fun.

Raeanne, I am very interested in Girlfriends Weekend next year.

Dee~Thanks. It worked out. The people we were going with wanted to go to Hollywood Studios & Dave had a PTSD incident worrying over that. He was afraid some of the sounds would put him into an incident. Then with us leaving on Saturday I didn't want to risk that. We are staying away from all the Veterans' Day activities today for just that reason. This just has been an iffy day for him in the past. These kind of days seem to haunt him. :(

NHSuzanne: Everything IS perfect the way it is! Right around the holidays, it's GREAT to have time off. You worked HARD for your unemployment - take it! :-)

Thanksgiving: We're flying our DD in from college east of the mountains, the other DD is driving up from Portland, and we are currently applying for 3-5 year old foster kids to come stay with us through the holidays. We put our name on the "Holiday List" too, for emergency last-minute placements.

Raeanne: N-R-G! (Energy!) Rah-rah-rah! And Girls Weekend? Details---days, etc, please!

Suzanne, ((hugs)) coming your way. I have been where you are and it's no fun. Easier said than done but try not to stress. I know the right thing will come along.

Raeanne, that sounds great. I am really looking forward to the Girlfriend Weekend. At least if we Zumba then Yoga none of us will have showered so we shouldn't stand out among each other :-)

My flood - doing a small load of laundry Monday night, heard nothing unusual. Went to move the clothes to the dryer and OMG - water everywhere!! We tried mopping it up but there was way too much. Turns out that when the washer drained the water backed up and came out of the pipe. The plumber said the line was clogged and blew everything out. All works fine now....my 3 year old carpet. The water saturated my hall, part one bedroom and part of that room's closet, part of the dining room and part of the living room. Remediation people arrived about 17 hours after flood. We STILL have huge fans blowing. They expect to clear out tomorrow. MY concern is mold - how can the padding be dry? Remediation guy is getting on my nerves though. He says there will not be mold. I asked if he could give me that in writing....of course he can't. I am calling insurance company again tomorrow - I think we need an adjuster to visit and take the carpet and padding sample. I might just call them when I meet this guy tomorrow afternoon and put them on speaker. aaarrrggghhh!!

Raeanne, good news is my kitchen is fine, just cluttered with everything that was in wall unit and book cases.

I will keep you posted on my flooding saga.

It's chilly here now - was out tonight and smelled a fireplace - love that smell.

BJ~I'll e-mail you my addy & let you take care of getting to everyone if that is all right with you. I'm not certain whose e-mail I have is still correct & whose isn't.

I got an e-mail from my Dad yesterday that has me wondering if we are going to need to go ahead & move more quickly. He says my Mom has really gone downhill in the past few months. I noticed that when I went to buy the house. I have prepared Dave for it. We wanted time to save more money & get our bills paid off but things just may not work out the way we had planned.

Donna~Congrats on your weight loss!

I lost all my insurance cards & my Social Security card since Wednesday morning so I have to go look for them. We are leaving first thing in the morning. Adios Compadres!

Gotta run; I had to present at a huge multi-national meeting this morning and was so calm that it made me wonder if I was fully prepared! lOL! Turned out fine, but you get that little sense of doubt that creeps in all the time.

Thanksgiving: This year we go DH's brothers home. sorry, Donna, no Smithville this year, but my sis will be there with her family. Love it there!

Benny had the surgery yesterday and it went well, but oh my, how long the root was. The vet said he almost needed a crowbar to get it out. Apparently it was in there to stay. I picked him up to-day and he is doing fine. He's not as active as usual but he is on antibiotics, pain meds, etc. I'm soaking all his food in water to make it soft and he is hungry and enjoying it. He goes back next Friday for a follow up. He had no problem with the anaesthetic or the heart but apparently they used a different type of anaesthetic because of the liver problems.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words and hugs. I'm a widow and miss all those wonderful hugs I used to get.
