Good Morning you sleepy heads!

Okay, I fess up - insomnia night. Too excited with new ideas and just could not shup my head up so I got up at 2:30 am. Now I feel like sleeping but it will only make me woozy all day. Not good if you are installing xmas trees and decorations, both indoors and out. I'm an idjut!

OOohhhh, oooooooouuuuuuuuuhhhhh - mmmmmmmmm - vanilla hazelnut coffee just brewed. Yum!

Well aside from being very busy with work, finally got furniture out of this house that is not mine or old stuff we no longer use. So there is now usable space again downstairs in the rec room for me to set up a breathable workspace for my crafts and sewing.

Been very busy brainstorming some new ventures for online selling, slowly working on a web page to upload once my new domain becomes officially certified and active. Going to do like many successful sellers do by having a blog related to my business ideas. Basically artisan work and crafts. Looking into preparing official registration of a trademark too so I can start building my brand. This is all the first step in a home based business for the future. It won't make mountains but if it can cover a bill or two every month that is a start.

Also going to call on Wed to book my outpatient class my shrink wants me to complete on cognitive thinking before we begin our sessions. This will take the better part of the winter for me, 3 days a week.

Mom's estate is starting to make some more progress and I continue to work on 'letting go' of my ill feelings towards my sister. It's not easy but I keep telling myself I can't fix her, don't take her behaviour personally and we are both suffering from mental illness (she doesn't admit it but I feel/see it). I have to focus on wishing her happiness. My friend told me I have permission to forgive myself and let go of these feelings. Stop beating myself up over past issues. That was 'yesterday'. So we communicate via registered mail for the estate as well as group email. I can't speak to her anymore - it hurts too much because we have grown so far apart into our own worlds.

So today's challenge will be to stay awake, keep cheerful and get on with things. I know I will collapse tonight but it will be a good rest after a good days work.

Gotta get that coffee!

Keep smiling everyone. I'm smiling with you.

(((((((((((((My friends))))))))))))))

I was surprised to see 2 posts this early but love it. We are out the door for a dr's appt. I have to see the pain management specialist. I see him every 3 months but this time I'll talk to him about my shoulder.

Peg~I have so much to say to you. I worked on my quilting yesterday & we hope to work on it more in the next day or two. Then, hopefully have it finished on/by Wednesday. I already have the next one ready to start. OK, it is started at least.

I e-mailed Rae pics of the Christmas Countdown advent calendar b/c I don't know how to post pics here. Let me know if anyone else is interested in them. I've made some improvements. I ordered some things to do my cards with & when they get in I'll start on mine. I'm excited to do them. Next week we are going to the Tampa Scrapbook Expo. I am finally meeting my friend IRL. She is such a doll. So, I'm looking forward to that.

Hope everyone is feeling all right. Have a great day. :-)

Happy Thursday! Got part of my plant order picked up from the post office today. I was panicking thinking they shipped everything - too early for the whole order. I've ordered the oldest type of roses that deer don't like (hopefully same with rabbits). Got 4 Salet Moss Roses (pink) and 2 Apothecary (dark pink) roses. These are the old prickly stemmed roses that smell like heaven. At least today and tomorrow until late afternoon the rain is taking a break. I have to plant these now. When I'm not ready in the garden of course. It's okay because they are foundation plants - pink roses along the east side of our house where we're having our sitting area built up and terracing the sloped side a wee bit. The last pink rose bush and the 2 dark pink I'm thinking of planting down in the vegetable garden area where I've started my herbal garden while in the trailer. I want to build that up into a sitting garden over time. Just taking a break for the moment. Just washed out and reinstalled all the batteries on my outdoor solar lights (new last year for the trailer life). I'm glad I had the sense to bring them in and tidy them up in the fall. Things are not cheap anymore - these are those newer white light ones. For the moment many are in use to mark off the terracing for the east side garden. It's just dirt, small rocks, lots of roots from ripped out old growth lilac gone wild, sumac and weeds starting. I feel so sleepy hearing the billion frogs in the wet areas calling for mates, song birds fighting over nest areas and signing at the top of their lungs. But the sun is sheer delight. I'm taking photos of my progress on the gardens. Eventually I'll get them posted in a blog that I'm hoping to do for my garden adventure around here. I've picked up rhubarb that is growing and current bushes/vines?. Grapes too but not sure where to plant them. They are supposed to be planted now - judging by the speed of light they are growing at in the hall. They'll hate me when I plant them outside - I know. Wow, I can see the golden eagles over the fields outside - guess they're sizing up dinner. The trees still appear barren. A couple more weeks I expect to see buds. I'm glad to read the posts. I guess it's slow because everyone seems to have so much to attend to right now. I'm still working on drinking my water and desperately fighting the urge to nap. I'll take that as a sign to fill my water bucket now and get those roses in the ground. Enjoy your day...I need light and fresh air. No a/c here - still wearing a light winter coat outside...the wind bites. Chat later, All my hugs to everyone, Peggy

Good morning! Seems like all that I have time to do is to dash in and dash out these days! BJ! A very big hug to you! I can only imagine what you have been going through. My heart goes out to you. (((HUGS!!!))) Hi Jan, "the shred", huh? I don't know whether to look into that one or to run the other way, ha ha! Maddie, I just LOVE blood and guts : ) I loved nursing school! Keep me posted! Raeanne, I don't like to share my recreation spots either! Hi Donna, how are the pups? Congrats on the almost 8 LB loss. George, George, Of COURSE we look fantastic! You really must stay away from those air brushed Hollyweird types. I am sure that Maddie has a nice digestive system for you to play with... Ivamae, I KNEW that you would lose that LB!! In reponse to your earlier question, I only weigh every 3 weeks or so. I am in no hurry, as I only have a few more lbs to go.I know that I am staying on plan, so I know the scale is moving in the right direction. The aim is to take the last of it off slowly and KEEP it off! When I get to 5 lbs below goal, (my "wiggle room") I will weigh every week just to keep myself in check : ) Back later if possible, Have a GREAT day! Tikanis

Nobody here but us chickens... Well, another good day behind me. I'm finally getting to know what it feels like to be a little hungry - I almost never have that feeling, 'cause I'm always eating!!!! lol. Dropped off DH's car at the garage to get new tires ths morning and WALKED across town to work. Granted, this IS a SMALL town, but I thoroughly enjoyed the walk! Crisp air, blue skies! And I meandered, looking in shop windows, etc. Great way to start the day. Weight is down a tad and super-tight, sprayed-on jeans I ordered are fitting a little better. I wonder how I let myself get this way (unhealthy & out of shape), but I know. I think I look fine most of the time. LOOK fine is NOT feel FINE! Does anyone have a mirror in their house that they like better than all the rest? haha... YAY and a CHEER to all the Chileans that are being rescued. I think it's amazing to see. Can you imagine being a family member? ...VERY emotional.... Check in, girls - this thread ain't gonna write itself!

You mean a lot to us BJ, so spill away. That is so sad about the 20 year old. My former neighbor, 22 years old, killed herself a few years ago after a breakup with her boyfriend. If only she would have realized that life does go and that one day that ex-boyfriend would have been a mere memory. Now her family is left with painful memories. Her sister is getting married today and I know it is going to be hard without Jamie there. They were a close group of (3) sisters growing up. Raeanne - I hope the service goes well. I have been thinking about you. And I wanted to ask, what part of Pittsburgh did DD get to see? Where does her friend live? Is she downtown or in the suburbs? Besh - I did have yesterday off and I spent it shopping and relaxing. DD's birthday was yesterday (she couldn't come home) and DS's birhtday is 12/5, so we will celebrate them both at Thanksgiving and I wanted to get their shopping done. It was a beautiful day and I was just happy to be out and about. NHSuzanne - How is DH doing? Is he behaving himself? DeeMarie - Did I welcome you back? If not, welcome home. I too immediately checked out the story about the "pirates" to see if it could have been your ship. Aren't we all mother hens! LOL Gretchen - I miss you too and wish you would post and let us know how you are doing. Magic Kitty - Are you there? How's the weather in Florida? DS has been in Iowa the last 3 weeks, so he hasn't been able to enjoy the nice weather. Joanne - Good to see 2 posts from you! It is so nice to have some of our MIA's back on the boards. That was a nice poem, thanks for sharing. Oprah's show on Thursday closed with her asking, "What have you done lately to make yourself proud." She challenged her audience to make every moment count and make themselves proud. Made me stop and think about the little things that can mean a lot. Patti - So glad you are posting again too! What are you reading lately? I went to the half price book store yesterday and added 6 more books to my TBR pile. Like I needed 6 more books, but those bargain prices drew me like a magnet! LOL Give Dave a hug for me. Tikanas - Sounds like you have such a busy schedule lately. Are you taking time for yourself? Jen - I need to shop for a 2 year old for Christmas. What is Tara into these days. My Little Pony? Hello Kitty? What size does she wear? Maddie - Sounds like your long wait for a great job has paid off. Congratulations! Having nice people to work with is a great perk. Our new teaching assistant is working out great and I am so glad we waited for that "one last interview" and hired her. And thanks for organizing the Christmas exchange again. Thursday's menu: B - 2 pieces 100% whole wheat toast with 1 T natural peanut butter and 1/2 banana L - Wrap made with whole grain tortilla, 2 oz. lean turkey, 1/2 oz. Swiss cheese, spinach and cranberry mustard. Mott's SF applesauce S - Last 2 pieces of Halloween candy (DH wouldn't take it into work! Grrr...........) D - Chili with grated cheddar cheese and 1 slice fresh Italian bread Friday's menu: B - 4 oz. yogurt with 1/3 C Kashi Go Lean Crunch, 2 T sliced almonds and 1/2 a banana L - Wrape made with whole grain tortilla, 2 oz. turkey, 1/2 oz. Swiss cheese, spinach and cranberry mustard S - Skinny Cow peanut butter ice cream sandwich D - Barilla whole grain spaghetti with my home made sauce S - Amaretto Sour (It was Friday, what more can I say! lol) Make today count! Good Monday all,

We are the countdown to Thanksgiving! I can hardly believe it is here already.

Besh, it's good to see you this week!

Peggy, I am starting to feel estranged from my sister. It's not a comfortable feeling - we have always been so close but the last six months have been strained. In fact, we live 2 miles apart and she MAILED me a birthday card! I couldn't believe she didn't pick up the phone and call! Not sure how/if it can be fixed but the longer it goes on the harder it is to fix. It makes me sad.

Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? Are you traveling?

Suzanne, hope you got to go back to last week and see your birthday party!

    Happy MONDAY!

Good to see you back, Besh. Stay in touch. :0)

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, Yes, Yes! We beat the Titans. My season is complete, even if they don't win another game. It's so much fun.

Gotta get right back to work. I was supposed to get a ton of projects finished over the weekend, but never opened up my laptop. Now I'm suffering!

TAKE CARE, EAT HEALTHFULLY AND NEVER NEVER GIVE UP!

    Hello again,

Dee, yes, I saw my party! Sorry I did not respond - I was buried in a project at work......how inconvenient! Did nothing for my birthday except work! DH is actually home and under the weather so we did not go out. Plus it's bitterly cold and windy and it isn't fun going out at night with sub zero wind chills!

There is never enough time to get everything done!!!!

Good afternoon from balmy SE Texas! It's sunny and 75 degrees out. Very humid, too. UGH! I was so enjoying the cooler temps.

I was busy getting things ready for my DSD's arrival Saturday, so I didn't post much. Yesterday after church and lunch, we all decided that we wanted to pick up my 9-yr. old DGD in Beaumont, so that's what we did. She's here for the week! Her parents and Aubrie, our 2-yr. old, will be coming over Wednesday evening. So far, we've pulled out all the Christmas things and gotten the tree up, fluffed, and beribboned. After a nice long lunch, we're going to decorate it. My SD graduated with a degree in floristry from Ms State u, so she's in charge of prettying up the place around here. My DGD loves helping us with things, and she is crazy about DSD, so she's working and learning a lot today.

Dinner is in the crockpot, sour cream salsa chicken, and I'll fix a pan of rice and refried beans before leaving for my Bible study class this evening. They won't miss me as they're all having a great time together. Hubby is off this week, and he's enjoying time with two of his favorite girls.

Besh, it's great reading your posts and seeing you here again. Feels so right!

Suzanne, (((hugs))) about your sister situation. I hope things work out eventually. Loved the turkey picture!

Peggy, you still make me tired with all your energy and enthusiasm, but maybe you'll also motivate me.

Dee, do you have many days off this week, or is it just work, work, work for you?

Patti, I'd love to see pictures of your latest creations. Alexis and I are going to straighten out "her" bedroom/my craftroom tomorrow, so I'll be ready to start creating once our company is gone next weekend, and I need inspiration!

Marci, I miss your posts. I know that the holidays will bring their own kind of sadness to your whole family this year, but I wish you peace and joy.

Is BJ inland this week? Last week's posts are just a memory to me now, and I don't have time to reread them.

Wishing everyone a great day! Thinking of Jan and her family.

Suzanne, sorry you did not have time to relax. Hope DH is feeling better. Saying a prayer for him.

Milkdud, I have Thursday and Friday off for the holidays, but I'm being pulled in many many directions.

    Hi, everyone.

I didn't want the week to pass without wishing you all a very blessed Thanksgiving and to also thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers and support shown for my sister, my family and me during this difficult time.

My mother is spending Thanksgiving with my brother and then coming to spend the week with me, like we did last year. It will be different this year, with Barbara gone, but I'm hoping I can help keep her spirits lifted and she can mine.

I started a list of all the happy times I could think of that I shared with my sister, and have buried the bad memories. Just things that make me smile and will keep her fresh in my heart. One that immediately came to mind is when we used to wash the evening dishes. Being the two oldest, that was our chore. We'd plug in the old brown radio, close off the kitchen doors and put it on our favorite station, WRBC, and dance as we washed and dried the dishes. She was a great dancer, I wasn't, but we had more fun. I was a skinny pole, and she would swing me all over that tiny kitchen. I'm holding onto that memory for now.

    Love,
    Jan

Jan, that is a lovely memory. I love it. My brother and I used to have to wash the dishes also (the two youngest!). Looking back at it makes me smile even though we hated it at the time. I hope you and your family have a peaceful Thanksgiving.

Dee, I did exactly what you said, took 4 deep breaths and I do feel better. Thanks for the reminder.

Suzanne, I love the turkey pictures. We used to have 6 in our neighborhood. They used to hang around at the end of the street, at the bus stop no less! They even made the front page of the paper one day. Too funny.

Milkdud, thanks for the kind words. I envy your weather!

Tomorrow at work, we are having some kind of potluck Thanksgiving feast. I am making a corn and brocolli casserole. Probably not good to try out a new recipe for this, but I am going to live dangerously! Had Thanksgiving yesterday with my family and will have it again with the inlaws on Thursday. I will be turkeyed out by Friday!

    Good morning all,

Gobble, gobble, gobble! All this turkey talk is making me hungry!

Besh, live dangerously! Go for it - how bad can it be?

It's pouring rain here! I am not complaining, it could be snow and is up in northern NH! Not ready for that no way, no how!

Jan, that is a wonderful memory! Some of my favorite memories with my older sister is just getting so silly laughing and playing with the cats and singing opera to them at the top of our lungs! The poor things - it was torture to them I am sure. My sister sill gets out of her car at my house (when she was still coming that is LOL) and sings opera to the horses, donkeys and goats!! They look at her like she is nuts! Those animals are so smart. ROTFLMAO!

Well, I love being able to come here & read several posts.

Besh~I'm thrilled that you have rejoined us. I don't think I told you but I haven't lost anymore weight but I haven't gained any back either so it's all good. I want to lose more & it will happen. I know that my body has to adjust after losing so much.

Jan~Enjoy your time with your Mom. This is going to be a healing time for you & your family. You've been through a lot in the past several years. Nothing is to be gained by remembering bad things & I think you are on the right track with the positive memory process. I think it is our nature anyway. Just remember that we are here for you.

Dee~Busy, busy, busy. I almost feel like you lately. I thought I was ahead of things but I'm so far behind now I don't know what I'm going to do. LOL I told Dave I refuse to stress about it.

Milkdud~I can hardly wait until I'm as close to DGC as you are. Aubrey is calling me, "GrandmaGrandpa" right now. She is so cute as that is quite a mouthful. I told DS I have a long name so leave her alone. LOL We are going to have a blast at Christmas. I don't know if I'll wear her out or she will wear me out but I know there will be some wearing out. :-) I'll send you a pic of latest when I get it finished. I have added some things & DDIL wanted me to change the magnet. So, we will probably look today while we are out.

NH Suzanne~Sorry that it is so cold there. I know that most of your scrapbook ended up being cold pics too but you know what? That is what you had posted. LOL I kept thinking, she isn't going to have anything to look back on to remind her of the summer when the snow is falling. There is the one of the apple tree bloomed out. And, I guess there are some of SP & Daisy. Can you believe that this year is almost over already? Love the turkey pic. We have so many around here. We still need to get a better camera.

Peg~I hope you are having a good time doing the trees. We are going to get a good e-mail going.

    Donna~Where are you this week?

Marci~Thinking of you & hoping things are going a little better.

    BJ~We are missing you.

Hi to everyone else. We all hope you will drop by & post. Patti :-)

    Happy WEDNESDAY!

Jan, thank you so much for your sweet words and memories about your dear sister. We all need to stop and remember the good times. We waste so much energy being mad and worrying over stupid things. Most of us have had good lives and we need to celebrate and be thankful for what we have right now! Blessings to you!

I am working from home today because I was up coughing again. Feeling better here in my fluffy slippers and 2 sweaters.

This is just one of my days that I give thanks for my sistahs here. :-) You know that you all mean so very much to me but why pass up the chance to remind you when today is such a perfect day to let you know?? This has been my home away from home for 9 years now & I am thankful that I found this site & that I've met such a great group of strong, supportive, sweet, caring women. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! It's very warm here today, 77 F., very cloudy and not a breeze stirring. We have the a/c on, so we'll pretend it's cool out.

Dinner is almost ready. There have been 3 of us busy in the kitchen off and on all morning, and it's going to be such a yummy meal. But, the fun of cooking together far surpasses whatever we'll eat. I'm thankful for grown children who love to pitch in and can laugh and work.

I wish everyone a blessed and fulfilling day, full of family, fun, and good food. I'm very thankful to have you all in my life!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I also want to say that I am thankful for all of you. Sometimes I stray and stay away for a while, but I can always come back to welcoming arms! I hope you all have a wonderful day and eat what you want! Tomorrow is another day.

On a fun note...just got back from DS football game...he played the whole game which was awesome...and they won! They beat their rival team, which they have not beat in a very long time! It was great...I am so happy for DS that he got to end his senior year of FB on such a high note.

Happy Thanksgiving and I second everyone's comments on how wonderful it is to be a part of this group.

For Thanksgiving, my husband and I are eating pizza and I just poured a glass of wine as I take a break from putting up the Christmas tree. Last weekend he took me to New Orleans for the weekend to meet some old friends and to help get away from everything. Needless to say, we ate very well while we were there. Mama is coming Sunday to spend the week, and she will have had her fill of Thanksgiving and leftovers by then at my brother's, so I figured what the heck. I know we'll be cooking a lot and eating out while she's here, so what better way to kick off the season than by decorating. Now mind you, my house is a wreck, because I've got stuff everywhere, but tomorrow will be cleaning, and watching the Egg Bowl (Mississippi State versus Ole Miss) - I hope the weather cools off a little bit. It's muggy hot today.

Just so you don't think I'm a total nut, I do plan to catch up on turkey and dressing and all that other good stuff at Christmas. My husband makes the best dressing ever!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

I am back in the swing of things...

The meeting with the state went VERY well and they like the prospective adoptive parents I found for Baby V! The transition will start as soon as they get their license, which should be January or sooner. The state is doing a family search beginning Dec 1st. I am happy for Baby V, but sad to be losing the little sweetheart. I love him so deeply.

Okay, well, both my DDs are home from college and the ex of the younger one is here for a 3-day Thanksgiving with us. They are just "friends" but are acting mighty "friendly" if you ask me! The older one is having drama with men right now, so we are just listening and nodding. The house is full, lots of food today, and lots of dishes to wash. How many calories does washing dishes burn?

I'll read and catch up and get back on tomorrow.

I love you all and am so THANKFUL for all the support and individuality each of you offers!

Good way-too-early-in-the-morning! I've been up since 4, couldn't get back to sleep, so I just got up, got dressed, and headed out to Kohl's to purchase a couple of pair of my favorite tennies which were on sale for half-price plus 15% off! I also bought the "Curious George says Merry Christmas" book for Aubrie to go along with the monkey I bought her last month there. I like that the proceeds go to the Literacy Foundation. It only took me 20 minutes to check out, and that wasn't bad! I then walked into and back out of Target because their lines were ridiculously long, and I really didn't need anything there. Stopped off at our little market for pancake mix so that hubby can fix pancakes for everyone this morning, and now I'm watching a Christmas movie with Alexis, reading online, and enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee.

BJ, it's so nice to read your upbeat post this morning! I'm glad that things are going well for Baby V. You have given him such a great start in life, and for that, he'll always love you and be grateful for you in his life. I don't envy you the teen drama at your home though. BTDT! We have occasional 9-yr. old drama here, and 2-yr. old hissy fits, but that's about it for this week.

I'm hoping to take a nice long nap when Aubrie has hers this afternoon. No more shopping for me today. But, I'm wishing everyone who goes out the best of luck!!!

    Happy Black Friday!

Snap out of that turkey coma and get moving.

I tried twice to log on yesterday and my computer froze up each time.

It was nice to read yesterdays posts and nice to see a couple today.

Jan - it sounds like pizza and wine was the perfect Thanksgiving treat. I am glad that your mom is coming to visit. That will be good for both of you.

Milkdud - I wished you lived closer. I would've sent my DD with you this morning. She is bugging me to go with her shopping when I get out of work this afternoon. I normally avoid all stores today. But she will probably win LOL.

BJ - I am thrilled that you are so involved with Baby V's adoption process. Who could pick out a family better than you? You know we will be here for you when you need us.

I have to get back to work.

    Have a wonderful day!

Well, hi from sunny Florida. LOL It has been chilly which has been perfect for me. This is the first year that it has actually felt a little like Christmas. It is supposed to get in the 70s today but still like I said, I'm loving it.

BJ~I was so glad to see you post. I know you love "V". You wouldn't see that he went to a good family if you didn't. And, it wouldn't hurt to see him go if you didn't. So glad the meeting went well.

Wodka~Who says you have to have turkey & dressing for Thanksgiving? Last year Dave & I had clams. It was probably one of our better years. I love sharing it with friends & family but we weren't going to wallow in pity either & decided that we would make it an unique meal. It was & we thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope you enjoyed yours too.

Raeanne~I'm not a shopper but I have gone out on Black Friday a few times. I just don't have a partner in crime anymore. I won't stay out all day. I'm a hit it & get out & go home & back to bed kind a girl. LOL Hope your DD gets what she wants.

Besh~Yay for DS! He must be about the same age as my DNiece. I finally got some of her pics yesterday so I can work on her senior scrapbook. Now for some inspiration.

Donna~I was so glad you dropped by. I'm going to make your New Year's resolution for you. LOL

Well, I hope others get a chance to drop by too. I've got so much to do & another busy month for the next couple of months. Have a great weekend. Patti :-)

    Happy Black Friday!

I started to do a bit of online shopping but stopped to accompany DH to Home Depot. Our main bathroom (the one guests and visitors use) has a sink that drains very very slowly. We've tried to fix for weeks, and today DH rented a super-duper thingy.

While there, I bought carpet cleaner for the 6x9 burgundy rug in my family room. It resisted a shampoo and looks horrible. OK, I'm on my hands and knees scrubbing a corner, then a bit more.....do everything it says and it is still not clean. Once I backed out of the room and gave it a good look, I understood. My family room has 11 windows and 2 skylights. It is not dirty, the part under the table is the only part of the rug that is not FADED!! LOL!!! I've been "cleaning" the faded area!

Soooooo, just got off the JCPenney website and ordered me a new 6x9 burgundy carpet. That's THAT!!!!

    I have shopping for:
    6-year-old girl
    2 year-old boy
    3 year-old boy
    1 infant boy
    1 infant girl

Any suggestions? I'm thinking for the older kids, an age-appropriate puzzle and gift certificate to Barnes & Noble. Is that OK or is there a must-have for kids this year? I could also ask the parents, but don't want to take thunder from their gift-giving.

OK, now I've got to try to get a few (legit!) stains out of this pale yellow carpet in the office where I'm sitting now. DH walks through with his work boots all the time.

Christmas decorations are up with exception of outside wreaths, the tree, and of course The Snow Village! haha That goes up tonight and tomorrow. Wish me luck.

    Happy weekend!
Peaceful thoughts to all of you.

    1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper, except for difficult to wrap gifts...they go in bags.

    2. Real tree or Artificial? Real..tried an artificial for a couple of years, it got damp in the cellar, smelled and tossed it. Will stay with real for a long time, I think it is the same amount of work, if not less.

    3. When do you put your tree up? About a week to 10 days before Christmas.

    6. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My sister always has a buffet, so most everything on the table!

    7. Lights on the tree? Yes. One year, that is all it had!

    8. Favorite Christmas song? Christmas through your eyes by Gloria Estefan

    9. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Home; then travel the Sunday after.

    10. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Yes I can!

    11. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star

    12. Open presents on Christmas Eve or morning? I do love the magic of Christmas Eve, but we open Christmas morning because Santa does not come until you are sleeping. I still tell my 17 year old that!

    13. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Traffic, lack of parking and crowds. I do hit the mall at least once though to get in that Christmas spirit. Kind of sadistic, huh?

    14. Favorite Ornament theme or color? Love them all!

    15. Favorite thing for Christmas dinner? Ham

    16. What do you want for Christmas this year? For everyone to be healthy and happy.

    1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper

    2. Real tree or Artificial? Real

    3. When do you put your tree up? Around the 15th of December.

    4. When do you take the tree down? January 2nd or as close to that date as possible.

    5. Do you like eggnog? Only my own - it is so thick you can turn it upside down and it won't drip.

    6. Favorite gift received as a child? Barbie Dream House - all cardboard furniture, etc.

7 Hardest person to buy for? DH - he never wants anything.

    8. Easiest person to buy for? DD's

    9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes

    1. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail

    2. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I can't remember a horrible one. When I was a preschool teacher I received more Christmas mugs than you could ever use in a lifetime, but I never thought of them as being a bad gift.

    3. Favorite Christmas Movie? Not fair to make me pick one but if I have to it is "The Bishop's Wife" - Cary Grant, David Niven, and Loretta Young.

    4. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Right about now or later LOL.

    10. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Prancer, not sure if that is all of them, but I will throw in Rudolph for good measure.

    11. Angel on the tree top or a star? We had an old angel that we put up every year that we took turns each year with the kids to be the one to put it on top. So their names and year are written inside the angel. It doesn't fit in with my tree anymore, but I do put it on the mantel.

    12. Open presents on Christmas Eve or morning? We open one up after Christmas Eve dinner (which is our big dinner) and the rest in the morning. Christmas Day we have a bunch of hor d'oeuvres throughout the day.

    13. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Crowds and overspending.

    14. Favorite Ornament theme or color? My tree is done in all Radko ornaments, aside from some treasured ornaments from my Support family.

    15. Favorite thing for Christmas dinner? We have had prime rib on Christmas Eve for at least the last 12 years.

    16. What do you want for Christmas this year? I honestly don't want anything. But a frivolous item (but way too much money) is a Wii system with the fit package. I am dying to try this out, but I think it would just gather dust after a while and it costs too much not to use.

    15. Favorite thing for Christmas dinner? For Christmas dinner we have a filet mignon and spiral ham with all kinds of sides.

    16. What do you want for Christmas this year? Nothing special, really. I can't think of a thing except may be a gift certificate to my salon so I can get a facial.

    3. Favorite Christmas Movie? It's a Wonderful Life...I was named for Donna Reed.

    4. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Normally I'm finished before Thanksgiving. This year I have not purchased one thing and I'm not at all concerned. I'm in a great mood tho, so maybe I'll panic in a week or two!

    Good Morning Girls,

I am really enjoying reading everybody's answers! I have to echo Dee and Marci's answers on #22. Dee, I also am tired of the political correctness (on most things) but especially Christmas. I am not saying Happy Holidays, in my world it is Merry Christmas. And Marci, I agree, I think the inflatable lawn ornaments have been a bit over done. Just my 2 cents!

I am now on my 8th load of laundry since yesterday....probably at least 5 more to go! Having some neighbors over later to watch the game. Go Pats!

I agree with you, Besh. Also, doing last minute pick up before my brother, his wife and son, deliver Mama for the week! They are going to spend the afternoon with us, watching football, before they head back home (only an hour away.) My husband, bless his heart, just took the grocery list. (I've mentioned it before, I am the world's worst procrastinator!)

I like the Patriots, sure miss looking at your beautiful quarterback, Tom, but his replacement is doing great, isn't he? We'll be watching the New Orleans Saints, who can look like a million dollars one week and total mess the next. Also, love the Manning boys and Brett Favre. I even pull for Kerry Collins with Tennessee, because he has overcome so many demons and is having such a great year.

Well, better get busy......Have a great Sunday!
