If you miss pasta on low carb -

-------- there's this new pasta out from Dreamfield's ...... it's actual pasta - 3 different kinds - elbow noodles - spaghetti noodles and bigger ones ( I can't remember what they are called !) They are actual semolina noodles coated with a protein that stops most of the carbs from being absorbed .. and it's 5 net carbs a half cup.( Which expands to a whole cup after cooking ) I have had it -- it's delicious ... I bought it at Super Walmart for $1.99
a box ! I don't know if links are allowed - but if you search for Dreamfields pasta -- all the info about it is on their website. What a dream come true ! We can have chicken & tuna salad again !

The calories on the box of Penne Regata ( that's the ones I couldn't remember the name of ) is 190 per 3/4 cup dry. They stress that it's not lo cal - it's low carb.

I've been using nothing but Dreamfields pasta exclusively for the past year. The important thing to remember is NOT to overcook it or it will increase the starch and become "carby". The more aldente the texture, the less starch. Also, some diabetics do get a little spike, but my thoughts are, like some artificial sweetners will spike folks because of the mental link between food and our bodies, thus with the Dreamfields. It really tastes like you're cheating!
