Besh, you are too funny! Put the ROLO'S DOWN AND BACK AWAY......no one will get hurt! What's going on??? My whole week has been like that. I have been positively eating and drinking out of control........wow. I hope your day improves it's supposed to be a decent weekend too.

Good Sunday morning all, Patti, I am sorry to hear your news. I am glad that things are going well with Dave. (((((HUGS))))) What did you mean "four of us were in Orlando" who, what, when?????? Too bad you didn't connect with ??????????????? Besh,(((((HUGS))))) I am sorry for your family. Death is not easy. I hope your FIL has a very peaceful passing. I have sad news myself. A long time friend of ours called Friday night very late. His 29 year old son is in a coma due to a drug overdose and has very minimal brain function. Mark, (my DH), went down to be with them righ away and of this morning he has not improved although he has been able to breath for 3 minutes on his own. Right now they are in with the doctor discussing taking him off life support. The whole thing is agonizing for them. What a horrible situation. All we can do is pray and think positive and remember that everything is perfect the way it is. Besh, I know what you mean about memories. It's hard to have to revisit such awful memories right now for me. I will be thinking of you.

HI RAEANNE! Gad, you said this place is dead enough already and then you start talkin' 'bout lilies! LOL! I have been really disorganized lately and keep thinking I'm going to get it together and write something profound here....no chance. I took the trip to Kentucky (more later!) and then my parents stopped off here for a week---and ever since, I have been list-less---so I can't get organized. Yesterday, I started making lists again and now I'm getting back on track. ---------------------------------------------- QOD!!!!!! Favorite flower? Hmmmm: To grow---easy!---Poppies (Orientals are my fav) and Cosmos (they are so rewarding and easy!) To smell: probably old variety roses. I just visited the zoo rose garden with my mom and found a wonderful, sprawling rose called a Gertrude Jeckyl that smelled heavenly! I used to walk through my Grandma's rose garden and smell roses for half the day and the fragrance just brings it all back! To look at: Peonies. They are so beautiful and ruffle-y. Plus, they hold wonderfully good vibes! Every Feng Shui book calls for them! And to give: I like to give the big, double petaled Gerbera Daisies. They are so colorful, and cheerful and just look HAPPY! To receive: I think I like Liatris combined with Eucalyptus. The clean fragrance of the Eucalypyus and the brilliance of the purple stocky Liatris thrills my heart. For a funeral: I like giving potted plants or a tree. They hold a memory of the person well and last a long time. That's my answer! Thanks for the QOD, Raeanne. -------------------------------------------------- Back to the laundry machine for me!!!!!! Oh, weight wise, I am at a stall---for the 4th week in a row. I weighed in at WW Thursday and am holding. They say it is good to go slowly and I am happy I haven't gained. I have 7 more pounds to go to make my doc get off my back---C'MON SEVEN! DeeMarie and Maddie: Have fun! We'll wait for you to return! Love and kisses!

QOD - no summer vacation for us. We may go to a wedding in San Jose in July - not sure of the date yet - but it will a quick visit. A friend is having an art show in Manhattan, so I am heading there on Monday for 1 night - it should be a fun packed day - we are meeting up with a very eclectic group of people and that always makes for an interesting time. I did my paddling this morning and may hike a piece of property this afternoon that someone is interested in selling. DH's customers invited us over for a BBQ tonight in their new home - so I have to find time to pick up some flowers or something to bring there. I've been thinking of DeeMarie - hope all is well with her and that she is feeling strong. BESH and ADAM ((((((HUGS))))) My eyes teared up reading that WOW. Besh you are so fortunate and Adam must feel that he is too! I'm with you Maddie - I would've panicked. My DD was about 3 years old and she was choking. I picked her up and headed to my next door neighbors house LOL. The motion of me grabbing her - dislodged the food. But I was a total wreck. BJ - I wasn't about to ask what job you were looking into - I wasn't sure if I could handle the answer LOL. I know you can do anything you set your mind too and I know that anyone that would have you working for them would be very fortunate. Marci - You are going into this vacation with a very good attitude - I love it. Congrats on the 5 pounds. NH Suzanne - glad your deadline is nearly over. When you were 8-10 years old what did you like to play with or do? They say that your grown-up job should reflect that. I better get busy, have to make the most of my day off. I saw Monster In-Law last night with a couple girlfriends - we enjoyed it, very cute, romantic and a few good laughs.

And if you're not a Mom, I sent my wishes on to your family for a happy day nonetheless. Yes, I came down from the ladder - DH took me to Forbidden Kingdom yesterday. Relaxing. Today I paint the living room ceiling, finish the white base coat on my last wall (this is taking forever moving furniture around) and Monday start the colour. Going to take a piece of the fabric I'm making the curtains with to the paint store to match the wall paint tone - heck I've come this far might as well get the colour right. Stopped in at the Lazyboy store yesterday - we ordered a new couch (recliners on either end) and a new oversized giant recliner for Dave (6'3"). It has a great feature of extended leg rest you can push out with your foot so your feet don't over hang. These are do in a couple of weeks which hopefully works out for all of my old furniture around here that is spoken for and due to leave about the same time - otherwise the stuff can get introduced to the back garden shed. No love lost there! Finally getting our first living room furniture that's not hand-me-down. Only took 15 years but that's okay. At least it's cash and not on credit. Wonderful to see everyone is enjoying their families this weekend! Today is clean the fridge day, grocery shopping later. So I am thinking of what can I get myself for this week. Need to also start digging in the freezer to see what we have in there for meal planning. I keep forgetting. With food prices rising, I'm getting more and more fussy on portion sizes (less waste), quality and buying what we really eat and not stuff we might eat. I don't know how folk manage raising families these days. So expensive. Also have to think of packing lunches this week since I start my seasonal job of planting business/hotel garden beds. Need to pack lots of water. If ya hear me moaning next weekend about muscles I forgot I own this will be the reason behind it...I should dig out my bubble bath stuff too for this week! Enjoy your day today. Think ahead. I see apples in the fridge that need cooking (mmmmmmm), carrots and sugar free jello for later this week. Good week to get my single serving containers out to make my treats. Gotta get working on a new mini weight goal! Cheers, Peggy

My still life is of a red pepper, onion, 3 plums, a lemon and a yellow apple. It started out fine, until a student from the Saturday class ate one of the plums, and then the following week someone had moved it around YIKES. So I had to fudge it a bit - it didn't bother me that much, because I took it as more of an exercise than a painting that I would ever do anything with. But if he ever does that again, I will leave him a little note.

I have to go home and bake for tonights Open House - and I feel very vulnerable to food right now - so this will be a huge challenge. I would make something I don't like - but I like everything LOL.

Besh - those Rolo's would be talking to me too.

Thanks for all those encouraging words - you girls really know the right things to say!

I will post it after this weekend - unless I sell it, YEAH RIGHT, LOL.

Got new glasses today-very mod. Lost my other ones at the beach a couple of weeks ago.

Raeanne---Make something, eat one, and forget it!

Besh: Yum, Rolos! Give that bag to someone or go flush the rest---NOW! I ate some cookie dough last night and it was so good, but I'm off that craving now. I am being good today. Raisin Bran for brekky, salad for lunch.

Maddie, that's it. I'm calling you.

Hi Amy!!!!!! Glad you stopped by! You sound chipper! Thanks for taking the time to cut and paste---I know it's time consuming..... It's pouring rain again here. Hawaii sounds SO good!

Raeanne- I was thinking. Next time you do a stillife, throw a bag of Cheetos on the side and save the life of a plum!

BJ - you crack me up - but I think the Cheetos idea is actually a good one LOL.

Amy - I am glad you posted too. I thought you might like the plum story LOL.

NH Suzanne - can you recommend a good restaurant in Providence to celebrate DD's graduation - small group of 6 people. We have reservations for Al Forno's on Friday, but need a Saturday restaurant. I thought you might be able to help - we like all kinds of food, but I was thinking of a place on Federal Hill.

The art show was a huge hit. We got a full page write up in the paper and that drew a big crowd, it is open for 3 days. I am not sure how today went, but last night it was packed. I got to overhear people talk about how much they liked my landscape - that made me feel good. It was very strange to have people come up to me and say "so you are one of the artists", at first I was like, "well no, I am one of the students".

Happy Sunday Morning!

It is a glorious day here in the neighborhood. I am going to go out and hit some golf balls and then take my dog for a walk up the mountain.

Tomorrow we are off to Providence to pack up DD#2, so I won't be around.

Everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend.

BJ, Jen and anyone else crafty out there -
Is there such a thing as copper sheets that are thin enough to cut, but sturdy? I am going to make a pyramid box (small), but it has to be made out of copper. In the worse case, I guess I can glue copper foil (if that exists) to the outside of the box. Can you tell me a good website to look for materials like that?

BJ, Jen and all - I found plenty of info on-line regarding the copper sheets. But if you have any experience using them and have some tips to share, I would be glad to hear about them. Thanks

Raeanne~ Glad you found the info you needed. My experience with copper foil has only been carving and embossing, then a sulfer bath (for the copper, not me!), followed by a brushing with steel wool on the parts that were raised. Makes a very cool piece of artwork. The only bummer about working with soft metal is that once you bend it or stretch it, you can never go back, so work slowly and without distraction. Some day, I'd love to do that type of project again, but for now, I string beads.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!!!!!!

Let's all hold good, positive thoughts for those who gave their all for us. My dad was a WW II veteran, who earned a purple heart; he was a brave, kind man, and I miss him.

Good MONDAY Morning!

All you guys are way too crafty for me. I still haven't got the hang of macaroni pictures!!

Gotta run out to Rag Shop to get some frames for pictures I bought on my cruise. Got a coupon off the 'net, so I'm going to get the Early Bird specials.

DH is working today, so I hope he gets home in time for us to do some special stuff together. Yesterday we had a great time at the BBQ. I played some odd basketball game with DH and 2 other couples, and I didn't do so badly for being 5'2"!! I came in 2nd behind one of the guys!!! We laughed over that one! I'm not too bad at free-throwing.

Gotta run and dry my hair.

Good Morning:

DeeMarie, I loved your message this morning. You could have been writing about my Dad, and I miss him also.

It is beautiful here today, and it was supposed to be raining. I went out on the boat yesterday and it is was nice, but sooooooooo windy. Today it is more yard work.

Speaking of being crafty, I am painting a pair of Dr. Scholls sandals for my sister for her birthday. I will ask Marci to post a picture when I am done. I hope they come out the way I have them pictured in my head! My craft projects have a way of looking completely different than what my original idea was!
