I do a daily type diet check. I don't count calories but I know what is good for me and what isn't. I don't 'do' sweets of any kind. Five pounds of sugar lasts forever here unles we have company. I quit baking years ago. If I feel hungry between meals, I mix two tablespoon Chia Seeds with unsweetened passion tea. I let it sit for ten minutes, stirring frequently, until it turns into a runny jello texture. That is my snack. Nothing is free anymore. I used to be a size small, size 6. Now I am a medium, size 8. Post menopause, I will never see size small again. I have fattening food once in awhile but I am fully aware of how my body has changed. I think prevention is the key for me. I'd fail miserably if I had a lot of weight to lose. I'm more successful trying to keep it off. Pasta is for Holidays. Potatoes are a twice a month indulgence. White rice is not allowed. Like I said, nothing is free anymore. It is what it is. My weight goes to my breasts first, tummy second. I used to be a 34A. Now I'm a 34C. I don't want to compete with my grand daughter and her teen body but I dont want to get round either. My exercise is working around my house and property. Living in a dust bowl with pets gives me plenty of things to do. Nothing is free anymore and I don't see it getting easier as I push 60. I'm just trying to maintain. Most of these reviews/responses are from people that only read and hear what they want to hear about the "HCG" diet, and probably anything else they don't understand! I think they missed the part about the maintenance program "resetting" your metabolism, and of course encouraging healthy eating and exercise. I think the reason why Dr. Oz stayed neutral is because it works! I will not tell you it is right for everyone, but I will tell you it works 100% of the time, for 100% of the people that do the program correct, how do I know...I have personally lost 110 pounds in 135 days, have contributed to a book on HCG, and have helped well over 100 people. I am not selling you anything, or even giving out my name, simply want people to understand that this works, but only if you are willing to give it a chance to owrk; otherwise find a program that works for you, either way quit posting ignorant posts and possibly disuading people from this or any other program that may help them, especially when you do not understand it! I wish everyone success, whether you choose the HCG program or not on a happy healthy life, and lifestyle!!...TJM

Yikes. That doesn't sound healthy at all. Avoiding starch and refined carbs is always a good idea but that much protein seems dangerous. Also, no fruit until "stabilization" seems like a bad idea. I can see how people will lose weight but it's not due to it being a healthy diet, but rather people's inability to eat vast quantities of meat. IMO you'll see better results with unlimited fruits and veggies, legumes, and some complex carbs on occasion. No white flour, white rice, sugar, or grains other than 100% whole wheat or sprouted wheat and even that in moderation. Make sure to eat some plant-based fat like avocados but minimize salt and oil. The weight will fall off rapidly if you follow this - I guarantee it, and you won't be malnourished like you can be in high protein diets. People think that because they eat a lot, they aren't malnourished but you certainly can get that way if you don't ingest ample amounts of produce a day to get all of the vitamins and minerals. I think people eat too much protein. We've morphed into a protein-obsessed country. The only protein I eat is sourced from leafy greens and beans and my blood levels are perfect. Just my advice. :) I hope you find what works for you. Diets are a very personal decision.
