Hi, gang. I'll make this short today. Here are my results for this week. I'm almost there. I should be posting my before and after pictures sometime this week, I think.

Well, I stayed the same to-day - 162. I'm rather pleased that I hadn't gained some, as I have been bad a few time this past week..

Where is everyone else???

Hi All

Congrats on ur weigh ins.

I was 128.2 this morning. Did not lose any weight. Happy that I did not gain either:-))

I'm still at 139. While I'm not excited that I haven't lost the weight I gained when we had a visitor, I am excited that I didn't gain any more while traveling. Travel is so hard for me--sitting still a long time, eating restaurant food and all the special foods that the people you're visiting make to celebrate your presence (same thing we did when we had an out of town guest). But I'm back at home now and able to do my own food prep with full knowledge of all ingredients, so I hope to get back to losing again now. Harold, you are so right about a lifetime change. I'll have to always watch what I eat, when I eat, and how much I eat in order to lose and then maintain. There's no way I can ever hope to have this over with so I can go back to what was previously "normal" eating for me. Lifetime change. Yep. Ivamae, congrats on the one more pound, and on getting below 170! Harold, you'll probably have a melt this week since you didn't see a change on the scale. It's coming!

'Tis the season for computer crashes, it seems. Harold, congratulations again. You're a weight-loss machine. Ivamae, you're doing well too. I'll update your numbers. I was 139 last weigh-in. Then over the course of the week, I did get back down to 137.5, but it didn't stick. My official weigh-in for this week is 138.5. Not thrilled, but even small improvements are OK. I have gotten my food journal back out and I'm writing down everything that I eat again. I had stopped doing that, and when I did, I think I let myself get larger portions or nibble a little more and that has stalled me out. I have also put up a chart on the fridge for all the world to see. Each day for the next 2 months has its own little box. Every morning, I write that day's weight in the box (again, for all the world to see). At the end of the day, if I've done well (not eaten anything I shouldn't have AND kept my calories below 1300), then I get to color that day's box purple. If I cheat, then the box has to stay white. The idea is to generate a field of purple, not a checkerboard. I think the visual challenge, posted on the fridge, will help to motivate me, and the visual of each failure will help me stay real about whether my diet is really working for me, or if I'm not working for it. Jasmi, now that you've identified what you did last week, I'm sure you'll turn your ship around too. But as little as you are now, it may take a long time to continue to drop pounds. You don't have far to go! Don't give up. I'll bet you look great already.

Hey Everyone, Harold, that graph is awesome! It really reenforces all of the hard work you've done and what you've achieved. Jas, been there and done that many times. You'll have a better week next week. I have a big weight loss this week, but didn't want it this way. I shopped and cooked all day Saturday for a party at church Sat night. Then at 3:30 am Sunday morning I woke up feeling like I had a very bad case of pneumonia and that someone was beating me in the head and face with a baseball bat. I made it to Monday and DH stayed home and took me to the Dr because I was so weak I didn't feel like moving. Flu test was negative. They gave me an antibiotic shot and a shot for pain and told me to come back today for more. My 6 year old grandson was sick too, so we had back to back appointments today. He tested positive for swine flu. They tested me again and I tested positive for it too. The scariest thing about all of this is my 3 month old grandson has been exposed. And he is too young for the meds. Please keep us in your prayers, especially the Gkids. My weight this week is 154. Can't eat. Betty

Well, I weighed this morning and am down 1/2 a pound - total of 30.5 I was hoping that it would have been a bit more. But at least it didn't go up.
We'll see what happns next week.

Harold, when you say you walk 10,000 steps a day, is this just in your everyday doings or is part on a treadmill.

It seems a lot unless it was for a postman or something. I do well to manage 3,000 or just a bit more, sometimes less.

You surely must be proud of yourself and have every right to be

I see you guys are doing good. I have been off on my calorie control these days. Have been averaging about 2000/day. Thats too much food for me:-))))

My weight today was 129.2 which is 1.2 pounds more than I weighed last week.

You guys have a good and healthy weekend!!!

I'm so happy this morning - Feb10/10. I lost a pound and a half. I'm now down to what I was when I was fisrt started on prednisone - 160 pounds.

My cardiologist says I don't need to lose more, but I do want to get down to at least 150. I'm fairly tall and big boned, also 79 years old so can't exercise as much as if I were younger.

Thats nice ..

I havent had a chance to weigh this week. I am in a maintenance mode from past 3 months .. So am really happy as long as I do not gain any weight. Thank fully I did not gain any weight in Holidays but do seem to have been binging a lot this month with quite a few Bday parties around.
Anyway, I have to get back to my workout schedule and reduce another 10 pounds to be on the slimmer side.
Harold.. hope you are doing well too.

I will post my weight tomorrow. ;-))
