New Diet

Posted by yacheryl (My Page) on

I am starting a new diet tomorrow.
I have been 225 for the past 9 years.
Tonight I actually had a hard time
trimming my toenails because of my
fat belly kept getting in the way.
I know why I can't lose the weight,
I like sweets way too much.

This past year, we sent 3 patients to a local gasto/by-pass doctor here.
Before they were considered for surgery,
they had to go on a special diet.
They lost a lot of weight on this diet.
Have any of you tried anything this?

You eat 300 calories every 3 hours -- at 9am, at 12pm, at 3pm, at 6pm, and at 9pm (if your up till 11pm.)

No bread carbs after 3pm.
Sugar and salt to a mimium.

RE: New Diet

Sounds fine if you are comfortable counting calories that many times a day, perhaps if you figured out a bunch of mini meals that worked ahead of time it would be easier to stick too.

good luck!

I talked with Frank today and asked him "Just what do you eat?
This is it in a nutshell.
The main thing the Doctor told him to do
is eat at your scheduled time -
not an hour early or an hour late and don't skip a meal.

Breakfast -a pkg of frozen fruit(like whole bag of strawberries, raspberries, or etc.) and a fat-free yougart
or 2 pkg of oatmeal

lunch - is a bag of frozen veg like peas, brocoli or
green beans with fake butter and some kind of bread

Supper is based around a salad. One night romaine, or spinach, etc.
Add meat and he adds tomatoes,or apples, oranges, etc.

Late snack is fruit slushies.
Whip topping and baked fruit(from frozen).

Frank said he eats good and a lot!
and to him it's routine, a way of life now, not a diet.
I'm going to give it a try.......cheryl

Hi Yacheryl,

I am a WW lifetime member who has seriously lapsed. This is not a reflection on WW but on me - life has taken its toll and I gave in. I have been back on track i.e. counting points since Jan 1. Good luck in your weight loss journey!

RE: New Diet

Good luck! I used to weigh 7 pounds more than you do. I was scared into doing something when I would get out of bed at night and my feet would be numb. I am far from fit and thin but am getting there across a hilly road of ups and downs. Try diet jello to tame the sweet tooth or an occassional dark Hershey's kiss (25 calories). The diet you posted sounds OK but I would add a little more calcium and protein to the mix and skip the whole bag of fruit and have an apple or a whole fruit instead. Don't forget a multivitamin!
I can eat a large Wendy's chili for 300 calories or half a low cal version of a subway sub.
There are a lot of 300 calorie options out there that do not require so many salads. In the winter I can't look at salad more than 2 days in a row.
I am assuming you have had bloodwork and were checked for diabetes. Not to be nosy but when I was at my heaviest I did not go for bloodwork/doctor for years.
I wish you well - small steps and your life will change for the better. Kathy
