Good morning all,

Marci, it's like old times when you start us off for the week!! Thanks.

We had the most spectacular weekend here. Strange because it was in the low 60's on Saturday but it was great. Raeanne, you are right! I was out with Sweet Pea and we had a blast Saturday and Sunday. Sat it was way too hot for the girls who have a winter coat on so we took it easy. Sunday was cooler and crystal clear and we went off on a great adventure exploring trails that we haven't done, some dead ends and others new horizons for longer trips. Alot of bushwacking through "unchartered" territory. It was fun and I think SP and Casey really enjoyed the new adventure.

Other than that I did nothing spectacular except laundry and we all know how spectacular and fun that is!! LOL

This morning it's pouring rain. I am glad my beautiful hens had two days of free ranging so I don't feel too bad about them being in the run today. We got 9 eggs on Saturday!!!!

Since I have worked like crazy from day 1, and havent had much time to post, I guess I should fill in what I didnt on my post Monday morning-- I was hired on November 8 to fill a newly created position in the accounting department. It was the position of Accountant/Supervisor, and I was told that a 4-year degree was needed for this position. I was also told that I would learn the 5 audits that the department performs, as well as any other additional accounting functions that were needed. I was not given a deadline in which to have finished my training. During the last 2 weeks of November, I was taught one audit, and in December, I was sent to supervisor training, and then my direct supervisor, "H" re-certified as a supervisor me on December 28th and wrote on my evaluation "Good Job!!". I also started learning the slot audit about during the first/second week in Dec. And that is where I stayed until. On or about January 4, "H" called me into her office to say that from the reports she was hearing, that I was "burnt-out" (wtf???) on the slot machine audit, and that I was being put on another audit on January 8. When I asked what the problem was, she replied that she had received reports that I was stressed out. The only slot auditor for the week in question (December 25 to December 29; that supposedly burnt me out; it was also the busiest week at the property) was "R", who at one point told me to "stop f*cking things up", among other various job-misleading "help" she gave me while she was "training" me. I was told previously that she ("R) was very angry with me coming on board as she thought she should get the new position, even though she does not have the required degree. She ("R") was hostile to me while training, uncooperative and very demeaning to me and my background. She refused to help me on more than one occasion when I had problems with the audit, and would have a negative attitude when I asked for advice. And no, she wasnt too busy with her work to help-- I went to the other audit, and have been there ever since. "H" called me into her office on Sunday, January 22, told me that my position was eliminated because I wasnt trained enough to supervise the office for the week of January 23 27 (since the other supervisors were in training that week), and that I had had problems with that week in the slot audit. (Seems to be a re-occurring theme.) At this point, told her that I had never been given any specific guidelines as to when my training was to be finished, and this was the first I had heard that the other supervisors were to gone from the office that week. Then, I spoke up, and finally told her the conflicts with "R", and some of the things she said to me, and that she deliberately tried to teach me wrong procedures concerning the slot audit. (I learned about the wrong procedure from the other slot auditor when she came back to work, and I asked the correct procedures.) I also pointed out that I was never given a timeline that I was to know the whole department, and that she, "H", was my supervisor, and had failed to inform me of this. "H"then kept repeating that that week in the slots was bad (see, keeps re-occurring), and that I was being demoted to this other position, with a 50% reduction on pay (and I now became hourly; I was salaried before) and that my off days would be changed to reflect my new status. She also asked me not to say anything to the rest of the department until next week. (I assume the week starting January 29.) On Tuesday, January 23, I was sorting paperwork at the printer, and "H" apparently did not see me standing there, and I over-heard her, speaking in a low voice, tell "R"that my supervisor position was open, and she should go apply for it. No one else in the accounting department knew, as they might have a degree and be qualified for the position, but "H" did not choose to share that information with anyone other then "R", who has been sabotaging me since she had the chance in December. So, at this point, I figured that since it was, ahem.. public knowledge at this pointhey"H" told "R"and I let it slip at lunch to the others. Everyone was shocked, as I get along with them, and have helped out with their problems before. And, I figured that it was best to hear it from me, so that I dont look like a whipped pup. One of the guys that reported to me went back to the department and let it slip that he found out, and "R"s face was pricelessshe got defensive and her voice got high. It was funny to see and hear. He said that he overheard "H" tell "R", and she immediately started to backpedal. I did go to HR, and register my complaints, and the rep asked what I thought the repercussions would be, and I told her that I figured Id be fired, and she said "Well see about that", and smiled. Throughout all of this, I have kept my composure, and have smiled and not acted any different. I still talk and laugh and cut up, and I have kept the same level of work standards that I have from the first day. I finished one audit by 10am yesterday, the second by 4, and still and time to deal with other peoples problems with their work. So, I am still employed, but I think things will change on Sunday. And probably not for the better. Oh well. Its just a job that paid very well; its not my life and it does not define me. I did tell Rog on Monday, after I took a good assessment of things, and he is OK with things, no matter what happens. I told him everything, and I told him the reason that I could not tell him Sunday was that I couldnt bear the look of disappointment in his eyes, he told me I was silly, and that I couldnt disappoint him, ever. BJI love you, my sisnothing you can say to me would ever hurt me, b/c I know you speak from your heart. If I were hourly, I would say you are right, but I was salaried, and all supervisors must stay until all the work is finished, even if they themselves have been done for hours. And I was told that everyone must help the others out to finish up, which is fine with meso, thats why I would always ask, when I was finished, if I could help with someone elses work. (Although, in retrospect, I never did see any of the other supervisors do thatever. ???) My insurance will not kick in until Marcha long way to go--, and I was not given any type of review until this past Sunday. Nor any sense of unfilled expectations on anyones partI was told by one of me peers that I was going a very good job And as for the "down with" statement, I merely meant that I was now down in the pit with themnot a put down (LOL!) in anywaythey are great people! J The coatit is a Burberry, and it came form a consignment store with a no-return policy. (I rarely buy anything from a mall.) Still, even for that price, I wouldnt have bought it now. Its so gorgeousI feel like a million bucks with it onJJJ And---about the attitudeyoure right, and thats exactly what Ive been doing all week. Im still the same person I was this time last week, and Ill be that same person this time next week. While I hate being in this position, it is just a job, and it does not define me anymore than my MIL does. Raeanne~This is already one spoiled baby! LOL She is the first grandbaby on both sides. She is only 6 hours from her DM's DPs so they get to see her way more often & of course they have done their share of spoiling. Of course, you wouldn't know that the DGSs weren't my biological ones b/c I spoil them as much or more. There is something about it--I just cannot help myself. We are going to babysit the youngest DGS while his momma is in school. That should be fun. (You should see the packages that we are taking for Valentine's Day for all 3 & then DGS #1's b'day is on Valentine's Day. Close to DeeMarie's! Please remember my DS on the 8th. That is when she has her surgery. They are going through the front of her neck to remove a vertabra & there is a slight chance that she might not make it & a slight chance that she would not be able to speak again. Dee~Sorry that you are under the weather. That is never any fun. I'll try to get back on here tomorrow before the Super Bowl starts--if I have finished with my packing. I have most of it done but am waiting on some clothes to dry. Since we have to go to a laundromat, I don't like to have my clothes dried there & prefer to have them hung up to dry. Tikanis, I love that story! BJ, I am very happy for you about the job. Your employer has an eye for a good thing and wants to keep it (you!). I hope that everything will work out the way you want it. Suzanne, the job sounds great. I am happy that it worked out. It is so nice to work close to home. My job is about 10 minutes from me, 15 really because I have to stop at Dunkin Donuts along the way, for coffee only! Do you start this week? Patti, be well. I hope Dave does not catch it. I am on my 2 round of antibiotics right now for a throat thing. It is not sore, just scratchy, but it has been this way since Thanksgiving. :-( Marci, Donna, Milkdud, congratulations on your weight. Milkdud sorry the way it came off, but a loss is a loss right? Donna, are you doing points or Core? I am doing points, but today I am really going to study the Core program and switch over for a week or two and see how it goes. I think I need a new program to shake things up a bit. Dee, thinking of you and hope you are having a great time. And Raeanne, you are off again next week. I am so envious of all you world travelers!!!! I think I need to beef up my "Helpful people and travel" corner! I had a nice night last night. DS and fiance came over and DS #2 was home (rarity) so we cooked dinner and then watched the Transporter 2 and Wedding Crashers. Transporter was so far fetched, but the main character was a pretty cool dude and the Wedding Crashers was a major disapointment. I had heard nothing but great reviews on it and we all thought it did not live up to it. It was still a nice evening. I have to start thinking about a dress for my sons wedding in September. People keep telling me I should be looking now and I am not ready to make a commitment to any one dress right now. I am still losing weight and whatever I chose now, may not be the dress I would choose if I was lighter, even if it had to be altered. Do you think I still have time to wait? Okay, I got THAT done. I really did read up on the stuff and visited the appliance forum AND took suggestions. So here's what I came up with: Frigidaire Freezer for the pantry (White)- Manual defrost. I'm either going to go with a 20 cu.ft or a 17. I have to measure the space I have. Right now, I have a small chest (freezer that is!) that I am also going to move into my garage in the new place. We have to buy meat and frozen stuff from the mainland and freeze it to cope with prices here! Washer and Dryer: Miele with stands (White). The guy sold me on these. They use very little water and soap and they have a honeycomb interior too, which will really save on the wear and tear of clothes. And they have a pretty huge rebate and energy cash back deal going right now on these. Refrigerator: GE Profile French Door w/ icemaker. (S-Steel) Really nice if you have lots of refer traffic (kids!) like we do. And it's got a nice freezer bottom drawer like my old SubZero, which I loved. (but...I HATE SUBZERO!--arm and a leg to repair! And a ROYAL pain to replace!) I'm also not buying ANYTHING built-in ever again! I got the one with the ice maker in the freezer. They have one with an icemaker and water deal on teh door, but that, for me, is a pain in the neck. The little ones think the water and ice maker are a TOY and I end up cleaning up the mess! No thanks! Microwave: GE Profile Spacemaker (Blk and Stainless): This is such a honey of a microwave!!! You can stop the turntable on it and it fits a 9X11 casserole dish in it or a 20 oz. cuppa coffee! And takes SO little space! I got 2 of these because we are microwave crazy in our house. I'm putting them on a shelf, side by side. Range and Oven (S-Steel) Dacor 38" 6-burner propane and electric: This thing really COOKS! And has convection too. I've had JennAir, Hotpoint, Thermador, etc and this tops them all and is SO easy to clean! Thermador and JennAir are the ones I would NEVER buy again---way too many drawbacks and the downdraft system just drives me NUTS--I will never do downdraft again! Range Hood: 42" Vent-A-Hood (S-Steel): Really SUCKY (and I mean that in a GOOD way!) and QUIET too! Nice design. I got it a little bigger than the stove because that's supposed to keep food smells, etc from wandering out of the kitchen area. Miele Dishwasher (S-Steel): Very cool. Love that the flatware rack is on the top and has its own spray thingy on top and has the ability to wash at 170 degrees. I got the one with the hidden control panel because the babies LOVE to tap, tap, tap on and buttons within their reach! So, anyway, that's what I chose. I'm so glad to be done with that part-my most unfavorite so far. Thanks for the help! It made a difference!

Marci - don't make any hasty decisions you have a year to think about this LOL. I am sure Dee would want to be in the unbirthday exchange and she is on vacation right now.

Tikanis - I like your renewed energy and dedication - good for you! I was at the gym 6:30 this morning - I have to go before my common sense kicks in and tells me to stay in bed LOL.

NH Suzanne - my art instructor has postponed classes until the spring, so I may set my easel up in my basement and start working on the eggs. I am glad you had a nice weekend on the trails - I guess it wasn't muddy by you - a lot of hikers around here are complaining about the mud.

QOD - no big plans this week, work, workout, lunch with girlfriends on Tuesday is the big highlight, Saturday I go to a 60th bday party and have been instructed to bring no presents except for a wrapped unbroken item from home - (Tikanis, if they didn't say unbroken, guess what would've ended up there LOL?) - sounds like some kind of Yankee Swap or Re-Gifting party LOL.

Jen - we stay at the Gran Melia Cancun - it is right on the main strip called the hotel zone. I believe you are closer to Tulum - which has beautiful Mayan ruins, if you get a chance you should go see them. My recommendation is to hire a driver and not rent your own car.

I am back to posting on Fitday.com and it really helps keep me honest.

Breakfast: 3/4 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c.1% milk, 1/2 banana
Lunch: 3 meatballs, small salad, lite yogurt
Snack: 2 handfuls of mixed raw vegies, tangerine
Dinner: eggwhite omelette with parmesean, large salad w/
lite Italian dressing.

I am varying my calorie intake each day as a metabolism booster. We'll see how well it works.

I had a great day today. I plan to hit the gym at least 3 x a week and alternate with other exercises on my off days. I am going to dinner and to see a play on Friday with my dear friend who is moving to Iowa next month. Saturday I MUST do some housecleaning. The rest of the week is up in the air!

Well, I am still sick but am finally going to the doctor tomorrow. I am so tired of coughing and my throat is sore from it...I have taken every OTC cough thingy available at CVS so it's time to visit the doc. Luckily I don't get sick often but when I do I sure don't fool around LOL!!

My dad is going to the hospital on Thursday for hip replacement surgery - if you think of it, a prayer is appreciated.

My little furbaby, Lacey, who just turned 13 has a bladder infection and kidney stone. She had a huge stone 4 years ago that was surgically removed. This time tests show it might be dissolvable and we are giving her mega doses of antibiotics and go back in 4 weeks. Special food and bottled water for the little princess (definitely worth it).

Other than this exciting news nothing much is new. Suzanne, I love reading about your rides, the way you describe things makes me feel like I am there. The weather this past Saturday was truly unbelievable wasn't it?

Raeanne - 6:30 a.m. is when I should go to the gym but don't. Maybe after I kick this cough I will start doing things right. Tikanas - you go girl!! I am impressed and in awe.

Raeanne and Jen - I visited Cancun once and really liked it, would definitely return. No idea what hotel we stayed at but it was in the hotel zone and was very nice.

Marci, thank you for doing the exchange!!

QOD: Guess I answered it - all of the above stuff. I am taking a long weekend (off Monday, not a holiday for me). Hope to get some stuff done and relax (ha!)

Will stop within the next day or two - will let you know how my dad makes out. He already has one hip replacement and one knee replacement (in addition to a bazillion other surgeries) - we call him the bionic man. He has all kinds of cards in case he sets off security detectors.

Donna, I am so sorry to hear that you are so sick! Take care of yourself and Lacey too. My cat has diabetes and gets insulin 2x a day. Once diagnosed, he is back to his old self. I hope the same for Lacey. I will definitely send prayers your Dad's way on Thursday.

Another great day here... My flex plan allowed me more calories today. I want going to the gym at 6:00 am to become a habit. So much so that I'll actually miss it if I skip it.... I hear that it takes about a month to make something a habit. I am on a roll LOL!

Hi all! I hope that those that are sick get better & those that are doing well on their plans stick with it. I talked to one of my oldest & dearest friends tonight. He has throat cancer & has lost from 255# down to 155#. He has developed a hole in his throat so everything he tries to intake through his mouth goes out his throat. His S.O. was saying that they were just blessed that they had already put the feeding tube back in b/c now they are able to feed him through it. He is just a few years older than me & has stuck with me through everything that I've been through since 1979. He has had a rough time too. He divorced in that time, had a business go under, & remarried. His wife died of scleroderma. Tikanis~you know if that is the right spelling or not. He worshipped her & did everything for her. She lived about 11 or 12 years after she was diagnosed & I believe it was all b/c of him. When I got sick, he would call me every day. Then he moved to Dallas & we moved here, & we just didn't keep in touch like we should have, I should say, I didn't keep in touch like I should have after he came down with cancer of the throat b/c I had to talk to him through the operator on the phone & it was hard for me to talk with ease to him with someone else on the telephone. (Not that anything was a secret.) I am so upset. I am to call him next month when we go to TX. We will leave on the 5th & not come back until the 28th so I'll be out of touch for quite a while. BTW, Dave asked me to say hi to everyone. He held me for a long time after I got off of the telephone until I could stop crying. He is SO understanding.

My knee MRI came back negative so I start PT again next week on Tuesday. That is the good news. My foot still hurts but it won't kill me & that is the good news too. Thanks, Marci, for taking care of the unbirthday exchange. Prayers for all who need them. And, keep up the good work, really, for those who are doing so well. I'm honestly proud of you. Patti :)

Just wanted to check in and let you all know that after a very long journey my Mom passed away on Monday afternoon.
I was by her side since New Years Day.
I am going next Saturday to Myrtle Beach for a week and hopefully my head will be in a different place when I return.

It is a little chilly here too Suzanne. What a change. I'm not minding it too much, but my poor DH has been having to do some outside work. At least when he comes home he can defrost in the hot tub!

I cannot pretend to know what it is like to lose a parent b/c I never have but I lost my DGM & DGF & they were like parents to me. I hope that you know that you can come here for all of the love & support that you want or need.

I guess that I posted at a bad time the other night. It was all pure raw emotion. Come out, come out everyone & check in.

Besh~I did hear about SS losing her home. She was very brave about it though. I don't know if I could have been.

Besh, you lucky duck having a four day weekend!! I am looking forward to three! This week was he// as I had to work five days!! LOL Today I have to go into Boston and I pray that I don't get stuck in holiday traffic on my way out. Ugh. I forgot to ask you if the noise has settled down over the new Lather and Lace Salon in Salem?? I think it was MA and not NH. How silly.

Patti - (((((HUGS)))) How sad to lose someone like your friend - I'm glad that Dave is the guy he is and is your source of comfort and strength.

QOD - I have my usual 1 day weekend LOL - so I am jealous of all of you LOL.

Suzanne - lunch with the girls was fun, I was very good, no drinks and stuck with a salad for lunch (unlike when I get together with you and Dee LOL). We laughed the entire time.

Donna - How did dad do with the surgery? I know you must be very busy. I hope you are back to normal by now - let us know.

Tikanis - I'm still undecided what I am bringing to the party - but I have a ton of things to choose from. Not sure which way to go - a nice gift or a goofy gift.

Well, I promised I 'see' you guys. I'm aboard the Holland America Noordam. She is extremely elegant and not one for very young people, but I am totally relaxed. Ed is off exploring St. Marteen and I'm off to the pool to enjoy the view from there (as I've been here 3 x before).

Managed to watch my intake of food, although I must admit at the same time my intake of rum has increased a tad....LOL (Raeanne, that's for you!)

Marci, I'm IN for the un-birthday pool.

QOD: I am working on Monday but I am having a great weekend. Last night I went for a nice girl's night out with some friends and a couple of our daughters. We went to dinner and then to see the Marvelous Wonderettes, a campy musical where the 50's doo-op music served as most of the dialogue. It was terrific. I understand that it is playing across the US. See it if you get the chance.

Tonight I am going to see my DS play a gig at a coffee house and tomorrow I have a date with Jack Bauer : ) (kids got me last season's dvd).

Tikanis - we each had to bring a gift, so we brought a Pfaltzgraft frame that I have had for about 6 years and never put pictures in it. I also brought a box filled with used candles - not broken. I have so many new candles - I decided to get of the old ones - there were a lot - I wrapped the package beautifully so that someone would want to pick it LOL. I got a used leg brace from a girl that had a leg injury this past fall. We cut out early from the party - so I don't know who ended up with my gifts. The show sounded great. How did DS gig go?

Dee - glad the ship is so grand - and I'm proud of you and your rum intake LOL.

Suzanne - hope you had a smooth trip into Boston.

It's a bit slippery outside here today, a little layer of ice with a little layer of snow. I think I will drag out some clothes for my Cancun trip and take my mind off the 24 degrees out there LOL.

Hi!

I am off tomorrow so will have more time to give a real post. I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and asking about my dad. Luckily, his surgery went fine and we are just waiting for one more doc to give clearance and he can come home today...if not, tomorrow. He chose to do his physical therapy as an outpatient which is really the best of both worlds.

Our weather is gorgeous - feels like spring.

Gotta run...will check in tomorrow.

QOD: I took Monday off but it is not a holiday where I work.

Good Monday all,

We are having ice and sleet today. I have the day off and I am bummed that the weather stinks. No riding today. I guess I will have to tackle a closet or two today. Ugh.

Donna, I am glad all is well with your father. I am sure you are happy that it's behind you all.
