| My family loves these cookies! Adjust baking time for chewier (12-13 minutes) or crunchy cookies (14-15 minutes).
1 cup flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1/3 cup shortening or butter
1 egg
2 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
1½ cups rolled oats
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in egg, vanilla, water and spices until fluffy. Add (by hand) dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
Bake 325 F for 13-15 minutes in center of oven.
