These are so good! They're easy to make - no mixer required - and they turn out the same every time.

Chocolate Walnut Candy Cookies

2 6 ounce pkgs. chocolate bits
3 T butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1 T milk
1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1 /2 c. chopped walnuts

Melt 1 pkg. chocolate bits.

Stir together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla; beat with spoon until smooth.

Stir in melted chocolate bits and milk, then flour and baking powder

Stir in 2nd pkg. of chocolate bits (not melted) and nuts.

Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for ten minutes. Cool slightly.

This recipe makes close to five dozen.

Do they spread out much? These sound great.

No, Ginger, not a lot. The cookies are about 2 - 2/1/2 inches. They really are great, especially when warm.

I just took a closer look at the ingredients while I was printing the recipe. There isn't a lot of butter or flour. Are they like the double chocolate cookies, or different? What is the consistency of them? Like fudge, or cake? Are they chewy or crispy?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious about what to expect because the amount of butter and flour is unusual for such a big yield of cookies.

Just wondering, by chocolate bits do you mean chocolate chips?

Jenn, they are not like fudge or cake - they are more like slightly crispy cookies, with a heavy presence of chocolate bits and nuts.

Dee, yes, I do mean chocolate chips.
