| Hi everyone -
does anybody have a Nanaimo Bar recipe that uses cream cheese in the filling instead of custard powder? Alternately, does anyone know how much cream cheese one would use as the filling? Thanks Suzan J |

Here is a link that might be useful: Nanaimo Bars, but not sure about the filling

| Sorry; that had PB filling. |

| It's my understanding that true Nanaimo Bars from British Columbia, Canada use the custard powder, and I've never seen a recipe using cream cheese. However, here's the recipe I received years ago from a Canadian, and it is very, very good. I hope you enjoy it. NANAIMO BARS 1/2 cup butter or margarine 2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/4 cup margarine, softened 3 one-ounce squares semi-sweet chocolate, or 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Cut into 1" squares. Store in refrigerator, in the back if you must hide them. |
