RECIPE: Pear Ginger Butter

I was in Michigan with my girls over the summer and bought at the American Spoon Foods Store in Traverse City their Pear Ginger Butter. After spending too much on a too small jar, I decided to make my own. This is yummy hot off the stove like hot applesauce or spread on toast. It's simple to make: 6-8 pears peeled and chopped coarsely, 2 tablespoons of minced fresh ginger, 3/4 cup fresh apple cider and sugar (I actually used Splenda) to taste. Combine in a saucepan and cook over low heat until the pears are very soft. Pour into blender and mix long enough to combine all flavors, but leave it still a little chunky. Oh so good when still warm! Enjoy, Ann
