My mother made these apple squares in a 9X13" pan. The bottom and top crust were similar to pie shells, not flaky but more the texture of cake. The filling was similar in consistency to canned apple pie filling. Unfortunately she did not remember how she made them. Does anyone have a recipe similar to what I tried to describe? I remember she did have to roll out the crusts to fit the pan. Thanks. Marg

I typed in Apple Squares in google search. There is a ton of recipes. Maybe if she saw some of them, it would click with her. There are some from Betty Crocker listed Apple Squares. Good luck

Hello: I think what your looking for is called: Danish Apple Squares: Made it several times, instead of apples, I also used pears. Very Good.

Good morning fran66_ont, sounds like it might just be the one! I don't remember the corn flakes in it but then it has been a long time. Won't know for sure til I try it. I'll even try it with rhubarb. Thanks so much! Marg
