LOOKING for: How-to make a Box Cake Dense

Posted by tropicalfreak (My Page) on

What can I add to a box cake to make it dense? I have a yellow cake mix, Pillsbury, that I would to do this to. I want the cake to be firm, like wedding cakes and bakery birthday cakes are. This is for a birthday.

The box claims there is a cup of pudding in the mix for added moisture.

I read about adding flour and sugar and vanilla extract or adding vanilla pudding and another egg.

Not sure what to do or what I can do.

Thanks.

Frankie

Add 1/3 cup oil and an extra egg.

I always add 1 1/3 cup milk, 1 stick of softened butter, 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla... tastes very good and dense texture.
