RECIPE: Gooey Turtle Bars

These were a surprise hit at work today. Thought the Kahlua brownies would go first, but nooooo.

More requests for this recipe than I would have ever imagined.

Got the recipe from Recipe Goldmine

Gooey Turtle Bars
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecan pieces
1 (12 ounce) jar caramel topping

Combine crumbs and butter or margarine in an ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan; stir and press firmly into bottom of pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Remove lid from caramel topping; microwave for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until hot, stirring after 30 seconds. Drizzle over pecans. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes or until morsels melt; let cool in pan on a wire rack. Chill at least 30 minutes; cut into bars.

Note: It is difficult to get these out of the pan after theyre chilled. Slice 1.5 inch strips with a knife and lift out with spatula. Cut into serving pieces.

Sue, you are just a baking machine. LOL. Your co-workers must love you.

RE: RECIPE: Gooey Turtle Bars

Got to tell you, this one took me totally by surprise. I thought they'd end up in the garbage pail. They ate every bit of them.

They're a good crew. Always appreciative.

They've set up a table (file cabinet) in an alcove and made a sign 'Wednesday at the Grotto'. They have a tall desk lamp that shines on the treats. Very funny.

We're moving to new quarters and apparently the biggest concern is the lack of a grotto. We'll figure something out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I want to work in your office:)
