Apple dumplings with sprite
4 Granny Smith Apples, cut into 1/4 each, peel and core
2 cans Crescent Dinner Rolls (open and separate)
2 cups sugar
1 cup brown sugar
12 ounce can Sprite
1 1/2 sticks margarine/butter
 This recipe will make 16 apple dumplings.
In a 9x13 baking pan, (spray with Pam)
wrap each piece of apple in roll, put into baking dish, core side down. 
Mix sugars together and spread evenly over apples.  Cut margarine over top, then pour sprite around the edge of baking dish,
bake at 375°F until nice and brown.

Friend said she added cinnamon and nutmeg.

Very good warm with Vanilla Ice Cream

Peach Dumplings with sprite
2 cans crescent rolls
Sliced peaches, canned or fresh (drain if using canned)
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups sugar
1 can Sprite
Cinnamon (optional)
Separate the crescent rolls. Place one peach slice on each section and roll up beginning with the wide end. Place in 9x13 pan. Take melted butter and mix in sugar. Add a small amount of cinnamon if desired. Heat in microwave for 11/2 minutes. Pour butter mixture and Sprite over rolls. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until brown. NOTE: 1 cup sugar is ample when using canned peaches

Farm Journal Cookbook (1972 Edition)

Pastry for 2 crust pie
4 cups grated apples
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups hot water

. Roll pastry into 14x12 rectangle. *Combine apples and cinnamon, spread over
pastry evenly; then roll up as for jelly roll (from 12" side). Slice into
(8) 1 1/2" pieces, sealing edges with toothpicks (I didn't need to use any
toothpicks), and place in 11x7x1½ pan, sealed side down. Bake 400 for 15
minutes. *Combine remaining indredients in 2 qt saucepan and bring to a
full boil. Pour over apple pinwheels. Return to oven and bake 15 to 20
minutes more, basting twice, until apples are tender. Makes 8 servings.

Note: I adjusted the recipe by using one cup water and one cup cream for the caramel sauce.

You can use ginger ale as well.

Peaches vs apples, both are great.

I just eye it with the butter, and sugars, though.
