Im looking for an old cake recipe that used Jello powder mix for the cake and the remainder was used for the frosting.

Did it use a cake mix? The 4 below use the whole package in the cake. What kind of icing was it? I've found a Jello Seven Minute Frosting but I'm not sure what you want.

Thanks Ginger: It could be the "Lauras Cake" however not the whole box of jello was used, and it could be the 7 minute frosting because I remember Mom cooked the frosting on a double broiler and used the remainder jello,I know egg whites were used. Perhaps if I knew how much jello is used in the 7 minute frosting recipe you have would determine how much to put in the cake mix. :-) Wow this is great to finally get this. Thanks for finding this.

Here's the Seven Minute Frosting. It uses 3 1/2 TBL Jello. I wonder if your mother used the bigger box of Jello (which I think would be the 6 oz size) & took out 3 1/2 TBL for the frosting. If she was like my mother, she wouldn't have wasted part of another box for the icing. LOL

I'm so glad it was the same one. Thanks for letting me know (we both had frugal Moms.)
