LOOKING for: Chocolate Decorating Frosting

Posted by legallin (My Page) on

I am making a giant Teddy Bear cake for my daughter's baby shower this weekend. I have a great (good tasting, and right consistency to work with) recipe for regular white frosting, but I want most of the bear to be chocolate. Does anyone have a delicious chocolate icing recipe that will be the right consistency for doing star tips??
Thanks! Linda

How did it turn out?

Well, I ran out of time ( I was making another cake, most of the food and all the decorations, too) so I just used the canned chocolate frosting for the cake. It tasted fine and worked great. Here are pictures of the cakes and my daughters (and me). Thanks for asking!

The buffet looks great. I love the cakes! I read on the other thread that they're all expecting! Wow, you are going to be a very busy grandma! Congratulations!

I didn't see your question until too late, but in the past I have made regular white decorator frosting and added cocoa powder to make it brown. Sometimes I will also add some brown coloring paste to make it a deeper color.
