RECIPE: Applesauce Cake

Applesauce Cake

1 c sugar
1/3 c butter
1 egg
2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cloves
1 c applesauce
1 c raisins (opt)

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg. Sift flour with baking powder, cinnamon, salt and cloves. Alternately add flour and applesauce to mixture. Fold in raisins. Bake in loaf pan at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until done according to toothpick test.

Thanks, Sylvia. I will have to save this one for snowstorms when we can't get out to the store because I always have those ingredients on hand.

Good basic tasty recipe: I would ice this with vanilla icing...

I'd put whipped cream on it but I put whipped cream on everything I can!
