large great room and kitchen color scheme

I have a large room with one end being the TV room, and the other end the kitchen. The areas are divided by a column on one wall, and a column in the middle of the room. The opposing wall has a 45 degree or less angle in the wall, but no column or other divider.

I would like to know if it would be tasteful (subjective I know) to paint the TV side one color, and the kitchen side a different color. The dividing line on one wall is a column, so I know that will look OK. but the other wall is only a slight angled corner. The two paint colors will butt up against each other.

What are your thoughts? Any pictures of this on the net?

Yes you can paint them different colors so long as they are colors that go together. You might look at Ben moores affinity paint colors...they are all designed to go together well.

Sure you can. You see it quite often in decorating books.
