Painting Trim Question

I'm painting previous painted trim in my house. I think it was last painted in the late 1980s. In order to determine whether the current paint is oil or latex, I rubbed an area with denatured alcohol and paint came off on the rag. So it must be latex, right? Also, the current paint is pretty matte, not glossy. So my plan is to clean, sand lightly, then repaint with two coats Satin Impervo waterbourne.

Does this plan sound correct? I'm assuming I don't need a primer in this case. BTW, the current paint is not in bad condition; I just don't like the color.

Thanks!
