They're very hard to find. I bought some from Penney's several years ago in a Chris Madden design. I've seen some of her short rods on eBay (do a search) and you can also Google "Chris Madden curtain rods" to find some. You might have to purchase the finials separate from the rod itself.

Forgot to mention--They're usually sold as a "10 to 18 inch rod". You can also try Googling that size.

I always thought crane's were the movable rods that attach to a bracket and swing out from the sides of the window frame....I have antique ones and love them...

We buy the shortest rod we can find and then take a hack saw to them to cut them to the shorty length we want.

I'm with Annie in buying a small rod, or even closet dowel rod if you don't want them to be carved, and cut them to size. Buy the finials and brackets separately at L's Home Improvement store.
